    Recovery Wadding

I have had no problems after dozens of launches with the wading burning. Maybe you didn’t use enough baking soda. Good luck

    Video Cameras and Mounting Techniques

Where is the exact location of the mobius camera as I have the same mount but unsure where exactly the best spot will be. I was thinking above the payload section since mine is fixed and ejects the tail and the nose cone for dual deployment. The middle stays together.

    Another crazy keychain camera mount

I have a 1/4" scale Patriot missal that increased in size and added dual deployment and I have a 3" Sudden Rush...my question, where do I mount the camera ie on the middle section of the deployment that never releases? Or do I mount near the CG? Thanks for your input

Have a chance to buy Real Flight Systems Basestation 2 and Accessories

Their site is taking orders with PayPal as your source of payment so they may be hanging on. I've not got that much insight into them but the product looks decent for the price. I couldn't buy a better system for the price. Used once. People moved onto a KATE system. That's way past my...

Have a chance to buy Real Flight Systems Basestation 2 and Accessories

I'm not very familiar with the system but looks pretty basic. I've got a really good price for it, just not sure whether to pull the trigger or not. NE1 want to enlighten me? Thank you for your help!

What did you do rocket wise today?

That is a REALLY nice looking rocket. Well done!

What did you do rocket wise today?

I love my piston eject rockets. system is very simple and works effectively. also, you don't need wading since the piston protects the recovery from any burn. Good luck in your build and have fun!

Assembling an engine in the field?

I've ONLY built in the field as it was my understanding that the build needed to be supervised by a certified rocketeer for any L1 certification. Now that i'm certified I'll build at home close to the launch date.

    Recovery Wadding

Ebruce Public missiles makes a piston ejection similar to what you are doing but more refined. You may want to view their work for ideas at publicmissiles.com

    Storing motors for cert attempts

I have two engines that i've been sitting on for several months. My suggestion is to keep the motor in its packaging until you are ready to launch. No need to have a ready made engine sitting in a drawer while you build your L3 rocket. Good luck!

    Recovery Wadding

make your own wadding. Box of baking soda Bowl big enough to hold HALF a paper towel roll Fill bowl with water and add baking soda until you can no longer get the baking soda to dissolve Insert HALF of paper towel roll and let soak for a few days. After all the water is soaked up and the paper...

What did you do rocket wise today?

I have decided NOT to paint two rockets (Sudden Rush and a modified 1/4 Scale Patriot Missile for DD) and just to launch them with prime paint. If success then they will deserve the time to paint properly. That is my wise decision of the day!

Congrats Fattbank64. Good luck on your flight.

What did you do rocket wise today?

I soldered a switch for the one/off of the dual deployment by PML. I like soldering...wish more rockets required this for DD instead of the push button

    My first high power build

Did you buy your motor yet? That's the challenging aspect of a first HP build. Buyrocketmotors.com is a great resource for motors. Good luck on your first flight. I assume you are going for your L1 certification?

    4F black powder

Thanks for fixing. I spoke with Jon yesterday and he is shipping orders via fedex with signature required. GOEX is $17/lb plus $42 for hazmat shipping. The price/lb is very good, but the hazmat is a killer.

THIS is the guy you want to contact. He will help you with your black powder needs so don't mess with anyone who won't sell you a LB of powder. Thanks to the person who posted this information. https://www.addictedtoblackpowder.com/ Jon Blackert 815-542-6287 [email protected]

    Patriot Redux build thread

I flew my 1/4 Scale Patriot on an I300T with a single deployment. It went downrange by about a mile (lucky just a mile), so I'm in the process of converting the rocket to a dual deployment. Here's the final original rocket after launch and before the cut down for DD. 1/4 Scale Patriot Missile...

    Motor Ejection and Dual Deployment

I was going to recommend the plugged forward closure and as advised from this forum I would install the delay element so there is no gap in your forward closure to cause some type of CATO
