Lpr , but a heads up!

This bums me out. The D12-3 is among my favorite motors, and I fly a ton of them.

    2-Stage Estes Indicator Upscale

This is a bit of a thread hijack, but how do I go from 1:1 scale drawing of fins on a piece of paper to smoking plywood fin in my hand using the TTS-55? I ask because I've never used either a 3D printer or a cutter of any kind (not even a Cricut), and I'm kind of intimidated by the workflow.

That would further tie up the already overworked phone support person and be counterproductive.

    Estes Support

It's not normal, and it's certainly not the level of support they aspire to provide, but it does happen. Try emailing [email protected]. That may or may not be better.

YAGT -- Yet Another Glue Thread!

The wood glue test would be perfect if he had included a coupler or motor mount grabbing test. "Let's see which one lets me slide this motor mount in place without grabbing when it's not quite in the right spot."

    Baltimore Bridge Collision and Collapse

<< to prevent a vessel from crashing into them>> The engineer doing the energy calculations for that project needed a calculator with a lot of zeros.

    Which mid; power kit????

<<quite diverse in terms of construction>> That's what I love about MPR. I can build two rockets that look alike, one with Estes tubing and balsa fins that can be lifted safely by a D12 and one with heavy tubes and TTW plywood that will survive a G80.

    Which mid; power kit????

The Madcow DX-3 is a good kit, as is any similar LOC (or NCR, or Aerotech, or any of a number of other mfgs) kit. The hobby reloads are generally easier to deal with, and there are more of them that fit that one case. The AT 29/40-120 "hobby line" case is probably the most popular reload case...

    Which mid; power kit????

<< Is it less expensive to go with one time fire engines, or reloadable.>> That depends on whether you recover the casing. Each reload is less expensive than each single use motor, but it takes some number of flights to break even on the purchase of the casing, and if you lose the casing before...

    MMX Vendors?

How was the experience? I have tried to order from there a couple times, and once I did a small order, and the shipping seemed way too high for such a small order so I waited until I was doing a big order, and once I got it all in my cart the shipping was astronomical. The website prices are...

    Lipo batteries and connectors

I don't have a blue raven, but in RC we would call the white ones 2-pin (or 3-pin in the case of the 2S battery) JST connectors (or balance connectors) and the red one on the 2S battery a female JST battery connector or plug connector (that also has 2 pins). There is confusion on this, because I...

May have found cheap all copper 22awg wire... xmas lights

No, don't delete it. I'm a little curious if the wire you bought turned out to be tinned copper or aluminum. Even assuming it's tinned copper, the fact that it is tinned is a little surprising. Like you, I would have expected to find (drumroll please) copper.

Estes Der Red Max (KM-2/0651/1403 Variants) X882 Decal Question

The old Big Red Max (came in a starter set with the Big Foot pad) had the nosecone decal. I know that because I had that rocket as a kid, and I was (and still am) hamfisted with decals. The X882 decal on my rocket was one of the few that actually stuck, so I remember it well. Sadly, that rocket...

Misumi 15mm rail vs Makerbeam 10mm rail

I have for several years (but not all that many flights) used a black Makerbeam 10mm rail as an LPR option on my Jawstand pad (which, when it was $35 on Home Depot clearance several years ago, was quite the bargain). I have never had a rocket hang all the way up on the MB rail such that the...
