Estes/HL: ESAM-58 My take on it.

I've never been happy with the way this design flies. Too heavy out of the box. I just keep it on the shelf at this point. Nice color scheme on yours tho.

What did you do rocket wise today?

This picture reminds me of when I was so excited to paint my new rocket that I did it next to my car not thinking. Later I had to buff out the overspray.

What did you do rocket wise today?

Got a shipment from Estes for the Cherokee-E CATO last weekend.

What did you do rocket wise today?

Built an Estes Flip Flyer. Nice easy one day project for winter. Can't paint outside when it's 37 degrees!

What did you do rocket wise today?

Is there any chance you can take a picture of the Vapor (Just the kit) I'm having trouble finding it on the ESTES site and the HL site.

    The Hot Needle of Inquiry

Great design. Thanks for the link. I want to do a cluster with 2 outboard engines and 1 center engine. Similar to a titan rocket but with fins. I'll do a build thread if I decide to do it.

Is there a need, or interest?

I looked through 191 posts of yours, didn't see it. Do you have the design as an .rkt?

Get Well soon! Maybe this will make you laugh. I looked for your name and thought it was Brian Fog. I'm a really bad speller and sometimes spell Brian, Brain. One time at work I did just that to someone and the person corrected me in front of a bunch of others. Doh!

I see. It looks like I want to make "Pods" whcih open rocket doesn't support: How do I create external pods to the rocket?[edit] External pods are currently not supported by OpenRocket. This feature has been considered, but it requires more knowledge of how to reliably simulate such...

What did you do rocket wise today?

I "Tried" to create a 2 stage cluster (2 engine) rocket similar to the Orion in Open Rocket. But I couldn't figure out how to attach 2 body tubes together... :(

What did you do rocket wise today?

Lol, I love Mifune. They are made from Cricut vinyl, I had to make them in single colors and will need to put one on top of another. Like the "Estes" on top of the Yellow "E"'s

What did you do rocket wise today?

Finished painting Mean Machine, Baby Bertha and Big Bertha with Black paint. Only thing left to do is apply the decals on Mean Machine (yellow version) I had to "clone" the yellow decals, hope they come out good.

What did you do rocket wise today?

Hi Terry, Personally, I haven't had luck with the Estes starters if I use them as is. So I modified my launcher to use a 12 volt 7 amp rechargeable battery. I also crush the tip of a wooden match stick inside the engine before I put the starter in the motor. This has almost always worked for...

What did you do rocket wise today?

I finished my homemade "El Cactus Loco" rocket. Turned out nice, I think. I used Open Rocket to see if the inverse fins will be stable. The nosecone is a balsa Falcon Heavy nosecone.
