Who Used Chute Release for L1, L2, or L3?

Back in November I flew my L1 with a Zephyr on an H130W-7, JLCR@400ft. Needed to use a different rubber band than the ones supplied - I guess it was the way I was folding it.

    real Lance Betas

The 4 inch kit is shown here in the paint scheme I've been referring to. https://wildmanrocketry.com/products/lance-beta?_pos=1&_sid=b8cfc8197&_ss=r

    Rocket reference

Could someone recommend a good reference of the world's commercial and military rockets? I am already familiar with Bill Gunston's Rockets and Missiles, and the Jane's books on the same. Are there any other reference works that ideally has enough info to do a scaled version?

    Tripoli Level 2 Cert Question

So did I, along with an explanation that there is a time period where you can opt for the test for either the old or the new version, so no worries.

So, the color scheme and decals for the Lance Beta and Lance Delta are just made up?

What I did today -instead- of Rocketry.

I finished Liftoff, a book about the early history of SpaceX by Berger. It was a good read, detailing the difficulty of getting the Falcon 1 to orbit. I enjoyed it, but then again I never tire from watching Falcon 9 launches.

    real Lance Betas

I am building a Lance Beta (Wildman) and tried to do some research on the actual missile as I would like to try that look. I found many pictures of Lance missiles, but none look like the paint scheme used by both North Coast Rocketry and Wildman. (I am guessing that some Wildman builders just...

    Tripoli Level 2 Cert Question

That's odd, since the answer sheet the prefect had didn't fit the grading "screen", but the one I printed off the net did, so we used mine. Not sure what is going on there, then. I mistakenly assumed it was for the revised test. Maybe some confusion with the NAR Level 2 test, which did change...

    Tripoli Level 2 Cert Question

Just FYI, I took my Level 2 exam in January and the prefect said it was the new answer sheet he was using to grade it, and using the above study guide I aced it.

    Epoxy question

Just a follow-up: I tried the 406, mixing like the professor said, and it mixed well, no lumps, and it stayed put on the treated surface, just like I wanted. Thanks to all for the advice.

3D Printing Generic customizable avionics sled

I just put up on Thingiverse a customizable (you specify all the size parameters) design for a simple av bay sled. It makes two kinds of sled based on whatever size information (like length, width, tube diameter, etc.) you give it and gives you a printable STL file matching those sizes. Type 1...

    Epoxy question

I have access to some West Systems 105/205. Which additive would I use to get it to approximate the peanut-butter consistency as well as structural properties of something Rocketpoxy for use in fillets, etc.? Something like their Microlight Fairing Filler 410 or their Colloidial Silica 406 or...

    Wildman Holiday sales

I just returned from Wildman's today, picking up several orders for members of the St Louis Rocketry Assoc. with many kits as well as motors. Got to meet Tim and Jackie, who are very nice people. Got the cook's tour, packaged up the boxes and loaded up. Frozen Tundra up there! Now in St...

Apogee Zephyr, 1st HPR build, finished it a few months back just never got around to posting. I cant wait to see it launch.

Here's my Zep just before its cert 1 flight. I kept it simple and used a JL chute release with an H130. Worked out, as it was fairly windy that day.
