    Altimeter switch style

I use nylon screws, either 2-56 or 4-40, depending on section mass. I always tap the holes as well, even cardboard. Use a little CA (thin) to strengthen the cardboard. I have 20+ flights on some carboard rockets with no shear pin hole distortion. By tapping the holes you can get a snugger fit...

    adjusting AEROTECH delays

And the burn rate at pressure (when the motor is burning) is considerably higher than after burnout when it is just the delay burning.

Right Rocket for going level 2

I find that the Madcow Super DX3 in cardboard is really hard to beat. You can get a 38 or 54 mount, and it goes to about 3500' on a 6 grain J, so not too high. I've probably certified more people using that rocket than all others combined. I have one just for sport flying and love it. You can...

Is this a good L3 rocket?

+1. I have a several BT rockets, including my L3, and they hold up well. Relatively easy to work with, too. David

    Altimiter swapping

I swap between sleds for special rockets, but as much as possible I try to share sleds. I have a sled for my 2.6/3" rockets, one for my 4" rockets, and a setup for my 5.5 and up rockets that use a different base in each rocket (to accommodate the different dimensions) but a sled that swaps...

Is that the cone for which you needed the case/nozzle measurements? That's Nice!

    MagnaFrame vs. Blue Tube 2.0

I have a few Blue Tube rockets, 4" and 5.5" diameter, stored in a Houston garage (90% humidity a lot of the summer), and I haven't had any issues with them warping. I do see a lot of thermal expansion/contraction however, so I see coupler/tube fits change quite a bit with temperature. I don't...

    Madcow Prion Build

It's a great rocket, it was my L2 bird. Flown mine on motors from an I285R to a K695R (I tend to favor the red motors for mine). It has survived several runway landings - paint (esp on NC) and main fin tips a bit beat up, but haven't had to repair it yet. What is your plan for electronics? David

Who here is on the Texas coast?

Just a rough idea of the volume we've seen down here - it is estimated that the water we have received is the same as if Niagara Falls poured on us for 15 days. David

OK, here are the dimensions, this is on the 2800 case: Exposed nozzle length: 1.261 Exposed nozzle OD: 1.710 End of nozzle lip thickness: 0.18 Depth from case end to top of spiral retaining ring: 0.25 I measure case ID to be 1.933, so that makes the gap between the nozzle and the case to be...

What details do you want? Dimensions of the single-use nozzle? I've got one I can photo/measure.

I really like the look of those beveled edges. Should have done that on mine. David
