    Baltimore Bridge Collision and Collapse

It doesn’t have to be politicians forcing change. Loss increases risk for insurance companies which in turn changes underwriting. Insurance underwriters can very quickly institute changes that require annual inspection and third party certification of backup power systems as a condition of coverage.

    Metal Earth

That one is in my build pile. First I have to finish the battleship Missouri. Agree about your observations on the instructions. Frustrating when it says to “connect the tabs highlighted in red first” but the print is so small that I can’t tell which ones are highlighted in red. Premium...

Total eclipse coming, 8 April 2024!

Can’t do a thing about either of those so no sense in worrying about them.

    Serious Nation Security Threat?

The “news” is designed to scare you more and more. It’s about clicks and views for the media and money and power for the political class. What matters is does the reality of how your life is lived scare you more and more. Perspective.

    Masters of the Air

Glad I didn’t get sucked into another subscription service in order to watch it.

Who would you like to see Rachel Maddow interview?

I’d watch her interview President Biden although it would probably be a very “forgetful” interview. ;-)

What do you do (or did) for a living?

    The Postal Service allows that?

What do you do (or did) for a living?

This right here. So important to find the right balance in life and actually “live life”. After graduation from college I took a year off and was a climbing/ski bum for a year. Lived in the back of a truck. Dead broke but good grief did I ever live. Warren Miller is one of my favorites. Latter...

What do you do (or did) for a living?

It may not be “a living” but it certainly would be “living”.

    Possible uses for star ship

Sure it has. Didn’t you watch the movie Armageddon? Admittedly there were a few glitches. LOL

    Come on, Boeing.

That’s because accounting makes recommendations not decisions. Major decisions are made by COO’s, CEO’s and ultimately Director’s, not accounting departments.

Oh man that is so true. Sometimes they will roost on the covered dock. When they take off they make an incredible mess and must be a couple of pounds lighter.

We seasonally (spring and fall) get migrating Pelicans as well. They’re fun to watch and love to travel together. Very majestic. The Blue Herons, however even sound like what I would imagine a pterodactyl sounds like.

We have lots of Blue Herons here at the lake and actually call them pterodactyls.

    Metal Earth

Good looking build. I’ve found more than a few where I swear whoever did the instructions never tried to build it. Sometimes the tabs end up in some really inaccessible places.

Would like to see it but can’t stand the thought of another subscription service.

The best deterrent is sometimes the one that never has to be used.

    Come on, Boeing.

Had the same thing happen landing at Oakland a few years back. It was an incredibly hard landing (we bounced quite high) and the oxygen masks deployed. Don’t know what make of plane it was nor why we “landed” so hard. It was a bit unnerving.

    ICEs and EVs

Yep. Probably should have stuck with that rather than going on to then say they are “common”.
