    My first MPR launches

Yeah, that was clearly the problem. Thanks.

    Fixing a (moderate) zipper

Morning all. As detailed in this thread, a premature ejection zippered my Aerotech Strong Arm. The zipper isn't too bad, less than 2" from the top of the tube. I see two possible paths for repair and wanted to see if folks had additional advice: 1. Cut off the top 2" of the body tube. Not sure...

    My first MPR launches

Well the instructions say, "The motor may be fired as soon as the bulkhead epoxy has solidified." I guess I should have read "solidified" as "fully cured".

    Got it, thanks.

    My first MPR launches

Thanks for the support! So one thing I'm wondering...if I am planning to use electronic ejection, why insert the delay element at all? To keep the main propellant from pressurizing the body tube? Is there not an inert way of plugging an RMS forward closure?

    My first MPR launches

This is the epoxy I used. Launch was probably 20m after assembling the motor, which might very well have been too soon — though it's not clear to me how having slightly tacky adhesive on the motor casing threads would have prevented good motor ignition...?

    My first MPR launches

In anticipation of a trip to the Alvord Desert, I decided to build a couple of mid-power rockets: an Aerotech Strong Arm and Public Missiles Bull Pup. I won't go into build details except to say that the epoxy clay Apogee sells made the fillets easy and that I preferred the plastic airframe of...

    Mounting advice for Featherweight Tracker

Thanks. How do you attach the shock cord to the nose cone in this case?

Sold Aerotech Mantis open box (unassembled)

Greetings. I have an Aerotech Mantis for sale. The box is open and the plastic parts removed from the sprue but nothing was glued. Wire guides installed. Never used for launch. Will accept reasonable offer. Shipped from CA. Thanks! /afb

    Mounting advice for Featherweight Tracker

Looks very cool but I see that they offer 54mm and 3” but not 65mm.

    Mounting advice for Featherweight Tracker

That's super cool. Your fancy screw-together nose cone got me looking at payload nose cones. The PM Intelli-cones look good, but they're expensive. Also the 65mm (I wrote 54mm above, incorrectly) Intelli-cone is the same length as the stock Pit Bull cone but about 2" shorter than the Strong Arm...

    Mounting advice for Featherweight Tracker

Hi all. I have a couple of 54mm mid-powers (Aerotech Strong Arm and PM AGM-256 Pit Bull) on which I’d like to mount a Featherweight Tracker. I only have one tracker so it would need to be fairly easy to switch between rockets. Neither of these rockets have e-bays, and the PM in particular...
