Launch controller circuit animation - Eyes-on and opinions welcomed

Here is a short video of the first test of the controller simulated at the IP of this thread. This was tested with an e-match. (The Continuity LED doesn't go out because the e-match leads fuse together after igniting). As I said before, this is only for Class 1 LPR/MPR launches at the local...

    Uses for a Cricut

You can import design files from other vector graphics packages into Cricut. I found a $40 Explore 2 and it's been great. Lower cost knives are available at auction sites and Dollar Tree vinyl isn't bad. I did this on my Super Big Bertha. Painting this would have been a nightmare

Anyone find detailed photos of the Nike-Smoke or HoJo fins?

I agree. different scale airfoils certainly make a difference on R/C aircraft, as well as helicopters and, I would assume, R/C jets, as well. Ive read some opinions on forums that the Reynolds Number issue suggests that scale airfoils cant make that much difference, but practical experience...

Maklin Missile Works fin jig drawings?

Contacted Ted, ordered the standard size and during a great phone conversation (covering many subjects!) He advised me on the details to pay attention to while upscaling. Great guy!

Anyone find detailed photos of the Nike-Smoke or HoJo fins?

I was wondering reading through the thread how much a scale airfoil shape affects the CP versus a simple flat fin on model rockets? I love the look of nicely modeled and finished airfoil fins, but I wonder if any work has been done to show their efficacy on model rockets?

    Subsidized shipping costs?

I was amazed at how much cheaper 1st class can be for some packages, even with the extras. I think Flate Rate only really pays off when you have very heavy items. Stamps.com requires a subscription, though, doesn't it? USPS in my area is AWESOME! If I had my choice I would never have...

Maklin Missile Works fin jig drawings?

Maybe I'm losing it in my old age, but I thought Macklin sold the drawings for the different sizes of fin jigs? Now all I can find on the website is the drawing for the small/LPR rocket fin jig.

60 Acres Park, Redmond, WA (Seattle area)

Yeah, looks nasty. Monday was looking promising, but the latest forecast looks like more of today. Looks like patience is the name of the game. I don't want to load motors only to find I can't launch :(

    ICEs and EVs

Another little tidbit about the Rockerfeller's greed was a nasty little experimental gasoline additive called Tetra Ethyl Lead. General Motors discovered they could increase engine performance by using higher compression engines, BUT they needed an additive to prevent detonation. At Standard...

Do you recognize what this is??

The Crawler with the powerful, geared down motor and winch was so useful for so many things! I remember seeing those still knocking around and working late into the 70's.

    ICEs and EVs

One can only wonder how different the world would be today if electric cars had become more established by time the Rockerfellers and Standard Oil had their way with the world...

Do you recognize what this is??

Oh, the hours I spent... My Dad was at a construction site and found a 3' circle of expanding foam that someone had created testing their foam gun. It looked just like the surface of the Moon, so he brought it home for my Space Station - it was perfect! Can't help but wonder, is rocketpoxy out...

Alternatives to 'Rockets of the World'?

Thanks! That is a fine looking rocket :)

Do you recognize what this is??

LUNAR cheese! Mystery solved: My brother gave me a Major Matt Mason figure (one of my favorite toys in the 60s) a couple years ago. Recently he saw a stand for it, so he bought it and had it sent to me as a surprise. My bro's cool :)

Do you recognize what this is??

This was sent to me via USPS from Surprise, AZ. Clearly, it's a nicely molded Lunar surface stand or mount for something, but I didn't order it or know what it's for...? Anyone...?

Alternatives to 'Rockets of the World'?

Yeah, no, can't imagine spending $150+ for a copy of Rockets of the World. Are there any other reference books that come close for those who have limited budgets? Looking for inspiration for designing & building my own and I am partial to military & sounding rockets, semi-scale most likely.
