Another Joe Bernard and Thrust Vectoring Question

Thank you! Definitely at the edge of the good idea/stupid waste of time spectrum... But it made a fun video and now I can say I did it! Back to prop dev now

Another Joe Bernard and Thrust Vectoring Question

A bit late here but everyone covered it pretty well - there's not a ton of demand, which means the price had to be very high to support a business with it. It also took a surprising amount of time to put kits together and get them sold - I actually hired someone to try outsourcing it 2 years ago...

Ouch, that’s no good! Alex when you get the chance, I’d love to look at the flight data and settings. Is it possible you had the abort safeguard time on for less than 3 seconds? Depending on speed it may have been moving too fast to maintain stability. As for the linkages, let’s follow up via...

Best of luck with the first flight! Can't wait to hear how it goes!

Regarding cameras, I'm a former wedding videographer, so I recognize some of these might be out of the budget for most folks. That said, I love the Sony Rx100 iv, Canon 5D iii, GoPro HERO4, RunCam 2, and for aerial shots the DJI Phantom 4. The Krushnic Effect is very real - you can see it in...

Hey there - happy to answer these! Flight logs would be great to look at! Every bit of flight data I have gets used in the tuning of the algorithm. It's not required, if users want to keep their data that's fine, but any bit they send back gets used to help tune everyone's future flights. Non...

This is an immediate reply because I'm so excited but I've been doing just that, literally within the last 4 days! PIDs do work fine, but I've got a cold gas thruster system in the works and development on that has prompted me to start moving over to state space control! Way more flexible for...

Happy to chime in! Deriving correct PID gains based on the tuning values that are obtained through testing is not easy, and ultimately imperfect. In a perfect world, everyone would have a full linearized simulation of their vehicle with flex/slop/aero dynamics and all, and you'd tune your PID...

Looks great! Best of luck with the flight! I'd go with the F15 first, but that's just because it has a cooler looking flame :)

Howdy folks, Joe from BPS.space here! Thanks for putting together this thread, can't wait to see how the build comes out! Regarding email, BPS is a full time job right now but I'm still getting the hang of the work load. I do my best to not let things slip through the cracks but if you don't...
