    Rocksim activation problems

Seriously, the 2D render is the base view of the rocket during your design. How can they get that wrong on initial release of the program.? Boggles the mind.

    Rocksim activation problems

This is the Rocksim 11 2D view of my 3FNC rocket. Huh? Anybody else getting this? The end and 3D views render correctly. Here is the Rocksim 10 rendering... Same Rocksim file, notice the mass (and hence CG) is different, the CP is the same, the Margin is different. Not much different, but...

Best electronics package for an MPR

If all you want is an altimeter for data, a Jolly Logic Altimeter 1, 2 or 3 is easy-peasy (or a Flightsketch Mini, if they ever become available again), just depends on the data and price point you want, and are easy to move between rockets. Marco Polo for tracking - for MPR, the 2 mile range...

    Featherweight Android app

I'll add my plug nickel in case the new release doesn't address my issues. I had 4 flights last weekend with my FW units. In terms of tracking, Blue Raven was not pointing to the tracker consistently on the pad, so I used iFip as my primary tracking software and checked Blue Raven against it...

    Rocket Track App

Does anyone have a copy of Rocket Track that has been updated since it was last posted here on the forum (circa 2019/2020)? I tried loading it on my Samsung Galaxy S23 and it continually crashes.

For Sale Blue Tube AV-Bay Kits

Always Ready Rocketry 4" and 3" blue tube avionics bay kits. I bought these but then decided to standardize on using my own 3D printed stepped bulkheads, components tray and aluminum rods (I put my tracker in the AV-Bay). These came with the packaging mixed together (not separated by size), so I...

Sold AV-Bay Kits and Altimeters for Sale

    1. StratologgerCF, new, unopened. I was going to standardize on SLCF until they became hard to acquire and switched my standard to Eggtimers. Bought two, only used one. Will sell for $70 (list price, includes Priority Mail flat rate shipping). Sold 2. Missileworks RCC2+ altimeter. Won in a...

RRC3 vs EasyMini vs Eggtime Quantum vs StratoLogggerCF

I've standardized on Quantums as my primary altimeter. Reasons why... 1. WiFi switch on board. I still use pull-pin switches in line with the Quantum, but arming away from the pad is a safety feature I want to have. 2. I build a lot of models with the electronics in the nose cone for apogee...

Let's put an end to the "Base Drag Hack"

And Rocksim will say a rocket is stable right up to where the caliber = zero, then it goes unstable. That is not reality either. 1 caliber just provides a reasonable margin of safety based on experience. Between a caliber of 1 and zero, it gets generally less stable, but what the tipping point...

AeroTech DMS UDDT - easiest way to remove 1 additional second?

I have brass sheeting of various sizes. It's easy to cut a circular 1/32" brass shim and keep it with the 1/16" washer the tool come with.

Epoxy safety, what do you do?

I find gloves to be too hard to work with. What I use is Happy Hands, made by Glenmarc (manufacturer of Rocketpoxy) and available from Appogee Components. It results in a skin barrier that prevents skin contact with the epoxy. Also works great with CA. When done, you wash it off with soap and...

The Jet Freak is fun, simple, and cheap

I have flown mine once and it was poorly balanced. I found it hard to get a decent test glide on a manual test glide. Did you have to add weight on your build and if so where? I could use a starting point t as a guide.

Featherweight Ground Station won't connect via bluetooth.

Nevermind, I figured it out. I'm an idiot.
