Estes Black Friday Sale...What did you get to keep, and to sell?

Probably going to give away some of the tickets to kids that show up at club launches.

Estes Black Friday Sale...What did you get to keep, and to sell?

Received my first order today. A second box with some Executioners and enough others to get free shipping is also coming.

Estes Black Friday Sale...What did you get to keep, and to sell?

I grew up with my dad having rockets in boxes that he bought on sale......I think my kids are going to experience that too. I bought 1-3 of every balsa finned rocket (almost), as well as some of the E2X stuff. Losing a $7 E2X 2 stager is less painful that losing a built, painted, decaled 2 stager.

    Elmer's School Glue

Curious what rocket it is? If it hasn't been painted, adding wood glue fillets at the base of each fin side will greatly strengthen it.

    E12-4 CATOs

Due to this thread I am going to start logging my E12 launches. I have an extended Estes Executioner that only flies on Hobby Lobby purchased E12-4's. I think I've had about 10 launches so far. Last one was yesterday, flew great. Temps in the low 40's. Date code on the E12-4 was "A 03 30 17"...

Does anyone know of a good kids oriented Apollo documentary? Something a bit shorter than this amazing Apollo in real-time website?

    Q-JET ejection charge size

I have an old Estes foam shuttle rocket glider. The ejection charge on a c12-4 blew the nose off of the shuttle. Seems pretty stout already.

Estes Saturn V #1969 Build - Let's share ideas and experiences...

For masking, I found frogtape far superior on tickets than 3m take. Worked well enough on my Saturn.

    Motor failure

:D I might have been concerned about a fire hazard on my deck if it wasn't soaked with water from my kiddy pool on the deck. The spent casings from the test fires looked normal from my limited experience with composite motors. Apparently I was just unlucky with the failed one in my Saturn V...

    Motor failure

Attempted a maiden on my Saturn V yesterday using an Aerotech E30-4T. Igniter fired (Copperhead), loud pop, but no launch. After checking the motor I found this: The delay and end cap and been blown up the stuffer tube in the Saturn, and the green motor retention ring had also been ejected...

    Estes 1969 Saturn V Status

That's odd. Directions show 2, and I am pretty certain it was already discussed that 2 was sufficient..... Anybody have a safe launch with just two?

Correct way to link the recovery cord / chute?

I am newly back into rocketry, previously did Estes with my family growing up in the 90's/2000's. Always stuck to following the directions and using what was in the kit. Dad had some NCR rockets but I never built anything bigger than a Estes Broadsword. I am currently finishing an upgraded...

    This Old T.I.E. Fighter

That's awesome. Way more of a cool kit compared to the late 90's early 2000's Star Wars rockets
