Total eclipse coming, 8 April 2024!

This thread got revived. Cool. Last eclipse went right over my backyard. This time I'll be in Arkansas camping with some relatives. Pic is me during 2017 eclipse. Hope the weather is just as good here and now as it was then.

You might be a child of the 70's if you watched Star Wars on the big screen more than once Han shot first.

You spent $15 on substances that put your mind into an altered state and then you listened to Firesign Theater. Everything you know is wrong.

Son of Sam. Also i thought this was funny. Edit: I just realized the whole thing was a parody probably from National Lampoon. Still good though. Speaking of which: National Lampoon then tv dinners of course

    Favorite Song

If I remember right, this video was the winner of a contest for the song and was released after George's death. Rest in peace George, thank you for the music.

Yet another Zephyr build thread? / Zephyr L1 cert motor?

See my sig. H219. Flew to maybe somewhere around 1500'. I didn't have an altimeter then. Have flown it several times since on H100 also another excellent choice.

The car from your past you miss the most?

Cant choose just one. But that ventura was a tank. Nothing could stop it. It was a straight 6 and 3 on the tree. My bug was a 68. The only thing that stopped it was points and fuel filters, so I kept spares in the glovebox.

3D Printing What Are You Printing Today?

I've been using 3D printed retainers for years now. I have mostly 29mm rockets and all but the very oldest ones I've put PETG retainers on them. They work fine. Haven't had any trouble with them. Yours looks like you intend to screw them to the centering ring? I just epoxy the thread onto the...

3D Printing What Are You Printing Today?

I created and printed the all-in-one glider pod. This was about the 4th or 5th generation. Started out with much thinner walls on the main tube but those turned out to be a bit fragile. It has built in launch lug and thrust ring. Small hole for attaching a kevlar thread shock cord on the front...

    How old are you?

Lots of people I talk to say that, but I'm the only one who remembers the picture was upside down for the first 15 minutes or so. In 8th grade my friend showed off a new-fangled red LED calculator. It was not cheap. Our TV was black and white. But that was ok, because most of the shows were in...

    Secret Santa 2023

I think we all put some pie in the sky item in our wish lists, never actually expecting to see it. Except this year... I did. Wow. Aerotech RMS hardware. Many thanks to my secret santa for the wonderful gift. Thanks to Papa Elf for all he did. Y'all are the best.

    Dedicated DIY Audio Thread

The first record through the system was Sgt Pepper. Front to back. Just because it had to be. Been too many years since I played vinyl. The Wall was going to be the 2nd, but it was getting late and only time for one side so I opted for Terrapin Station. Mostly just enjoying random tunes now...

TT is a Dual 506 belt drive ULM tonearm. I have 2 cartridges. Pretty sure both needles need replaced. Not sure which way to go. I believe the Ortofon was the one that came with the tt. Its the one currently mounted. I'll play it and see what it sounds like. Searching around it looks like I can...

I was surprised at the volume it put out. Efficient speakers have something to do with that though. As for "how it sounds" ... I'll be digging out the turntable and vinyl tomorrow. I'll let you know
