    Advice: LOC Terrier/Sandhawk Build

I added a Loc av bay to my Sandhawk and trimmed the top off my Terrier to make an an-hoc av bay that I attached to the ISC so I could fly electronics in both sections, fly like a dream

    Wanted 2.6" Nike Apache kit

Thanks for the research, but this is a cardboard kit and I'm looking for the FG. It looks like my best bet is trying to Frankenstein Mach1 parts into what I need.

The last two K940s I flew (May of 2020 stamp) had no pellet and the dipped ematch. First one blistered the case at the forward end, second one blow torched the case and aft closure.

    Wanted 2.6" Nike Apache kit

Just like the post says...either the Madcow, RW, or CW variant. Unassembled, that's the big part. I'm really just looking for the Apache but to get it I'll take the Nike with it.

    Q-Jet Follies

I did. Two packs worth, failure to ignite. I assumed the 3 ignitors for every one successful launch was just me loading the ignitors incorrectly (I got these for my kid, I had never used Q jets before). Purchased spring 2022 sometime, didn't record the lot data.

    Lost at Blackrock

I have spent more time scouring that desert than I care to remember...good luck out there. If you do go out, check which ways the winds have been blowing since the launch. The usually westerly winds grab chutes and drag rockets east until you hit the mud dunes by the Quinn River inlet and that...

    Lost at Blackrock

I saw your booster on the playa, I'm glad you recovered it. I spent a good portion of Sunday looking unsuccessfully west and north of the flight line for a friend's rocket, never saw your sustainer.

Had two issues with K940s the same day. The first flight was fine but afterwards, the case couldn't be removed - massive bulge near the where the forward closure meets the liner. Second flight had a case burn through near the aft closure half a second into flight - cut through the case and the...

    AeroTech Open Thread

The L1000 and L1090 are great, but when I want a really big 54, I have to go CTI L935imax and I would much rather prefer a big 54 Prop X!

Aerotech, how about a Propellant X 54mm 2800 reload? The K1103 is awesome but I think a baby 54 L would be even better.

I epoxy eyebolts to the forward closure all the time. It's not approved or manufacturer recommended but with good epoxy and prep, they hold very well. This one was on the forward closure of a 54 6XL case. It came in ballistic from 35,000', bent the case, buried the rocket 5' in the playa, but...

    Wanted BT55 FWFG Nose cone

    That's what I'm seeing. It's a tough find.

    Wanted BT55 FWFG Nose cone

The inner airframe diameter is 33.2mm and the outer is 34.3. I never flew LP/MP enough to understand the etymology of the BT measurements but that's the size I need.

    Wanted BT55 FWFG Nose cone

4:1 ogive or better, 5.5VK would be amazing. I have a small Mach1 RIM66 kit I can fly on 24mm Gs and I need something better than the plastic NC it came with and something with the ability to hold a tracker.

Mounting recovery harness in 4" 75mm mount fiberglass rocket fin can?

Depends on what you fly most of the time...if you are only going to fly 75s, then go eyebolt. If you want to also fly CTI 54s, go harness (but don't epoxy anything to the motor tube, you're asking for repair, replacement, and overall strength issues). I have this exact airframe (love it) and...
