    Thoughts on the new madcow nike-apache as first hpr 2 stager?

    I managed to get one from the first run at 0700 yesterday, took a few tries to process the purchase though. Too good to pass up.

    Using bolts to mount nose coupler??

    Consider using removable nylon rivets. PML has them listed on their hardware page: https://publicmissiles.com/product/hardware Amazon has some too: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008MP06SG/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 They come in various diameters and lengths. McMaster has a wide...

    HAM class

    I got my first ham ticket back when I was 13. I took the General exam at the FCC office in San Francisco and the Extra in LA. They used tubes back then and you could get shocked on the straight key during the transmit portion of the CW test. Old school. :)

    Richard Feynman Lecture - "Los Alamos From Below" (some really good laughs)

    Feynman's Lectures on Physics are a wonderful read. Some math required. I have the paperback versions, the hardcover editions are a bit pricey. https://www.amazon.com/dp/0465023827/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

    I'm Quitting Smoking on January 1 - Anybody Wanna Join Me?

    Dang Tony. I didn't know that. I hope the endoscopy turns out well. I used to smoke 4 packs of Marlboro per day. I quit cold turkey ~32 years ago, it was the hardest thing I ever did. I was a royal @ss for about a year, some say I still am :) I do have an occasional stogie nowadays but...

    49er's Clean house!! (Fired everyone)

    Somewhat dated but these are the stats as of July of last year. https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-07-08/breakdown-us-citizens-killed-cops-2016 And more info on black on black crime. Kappy really needs to address this too...

    Boris Katan flights 2016 -> Clusters + 3D Printing Fun <-

    Thanks. I'm using similar temps. My "chamber" doesn't get anywhere near 70C, maybe 40C on a warm day. I'm space limited at the moment so a proper chamber will have to wait. My big problem with ABS is delamination. I've been using some IC3D ABS filament with reasonable success although I...

    Boris Katan flights 2016 -> Clusters + 3D Printing Fun <-

    Fun thread, I'm paying more attention to your printer than the rockets :) I also have a deltabot, an OpenBeam Kossel Pro. I'm printing mainly in PLA. ABS is a real PITA at times. I've had more failures than successes with ABS. My printer is in a small closet so it's nice and toasty during...

    49er's Clean house!! (Fired everyone)

    <rant> I'm a niners fan. However, I've not watched a single NFL game this season, largely due to Kaepernick's antics and the political BS which runs rampant in the NFL. As long as he's still in the NFL, the niners and NFL can suck eggs. I plan to be cleaning off my workbench during the...

    Chopped fiberglass info

    Look on ebay. You can find chopped/milled fiberglass and carbon fiber in varying quantities for reasonable prices. https://www.uscomposites.com/ is another great source for composites.

    Fiberglass Suppliers

    Ok, that's good news. I was concerned that the variety and competition was drying up. I also have some black FG I got from Wildman so it would be good to have an alternate source.

    Poll: Should Launch Organizers Provide Recycling Containers At Launches?

    If you want your club to recycle, contact your local club officers and volunteer to coordinate the recycling.

    Fiberglass Suppliers

    Yes, it has. For example rocketry warehouse had dozens and dozens of different airframe tubes, around 6 or 7 pages worth. Madcow has 1 page. It skips over 5" entirely and stops at 5.5". Wildman is similarly restricted from what they used to offer. I'm sure their quality is fine, I just need...
