Sold Reloads - Bong/QCRS pickup. N5800+6xl complete motor

I added in a 98mm 6xl complete motor hardware as a package with the N5800 reload. I'll only sell the hardware with the reload, but figured someone might be interested.

    Rookie HPR mistakes

Ouch.. For added comfort these days, if there is room, I always fly with a Featherweight GPS and then just throw the Wildman tracker in anyways.

    Rookie HPR mistakes

I'd add my own similar funny story to this: - Forgetting to confirm your tracker receiver channel and ending up tracking someone else's rocket! As it turns out, I must have bumped the tracker channel on my Wildman tracker. Turned it on and started tracking. After a long walk, realized I had...

Post A Picture Of A Rocket (Or Rockets)... Comments Welcomed

This is one of my all time favorite photos of a rocket that I have built. I must give credit to Kevin Harnack for this awesome shot, and hope he doesn't mind me sharing! This was at Tripoli Wisconsin I think back in 2017:

Ejection charges for 7" diameter rockets

I should add, sorry I can't be more help. Perhaps you can share a bit more detail? Also, are you trying to save on BP or is there some other reason for this approach? I'm curious :)

Ejection charges for 7" diameter rockets

In my limited experience, I can't say I've seen this so I'd assume this isn't standard practice. I'm also not sure I'm following how this would work in practice. Then again I have only built one "larger" rocket. For my 6" project I went about BP charges as per usual.. Estimating using an online...

    Rookie HPR mistakes

Here is a checklist I used for my L3, slightly modified for this thread to generalize a bit. I like to divide mine into a section for prep and a section for once on the pad: Prep: Install fresh/charged batteries for each altimeter Install fresh/charged battery in tracker transmitter Connect...

    Rookie HPR mistakes

On arming altimeters with the twist and tape method, accidentally getting some tape onto the body of the booster section... Drogue pops, and the wires get ripped out, cutting power to the altimeter.

    Redundant Dual-Deployment Ejection Charges

I have always upped the second charge 20%-40% or so. on a related thought, if the rocket is large enough to fit it, i'll also run a backup altimeter on it's own power source.

3D Printing Printing a trapezoidal fin can in one piece?

I would recommend trying supports, and if that doesn't turn out right perhaps modify the design. As OverTheTop mentioned, Cura has gotten better and better with supports and I had found that supports come off pretty easily. If you are up for a bit of investment, I've heard Simplify3D is rumored...

    Mini Midwest Power

Many thanks to QCRC for another fantastic launch! MMWP was my first launch when returning to rocketry after a long hiatus, so it's a personal favorite of mine. I had one good flight and unfortunately one failure. at the looks of it, the ejection charge did not fire and I have to look into why...
