Which motor configuration do you have? Mine was 3x29mm. I already destroyed it on 3x H115DM motors. But it flew great on 3xG72DM motors. On the H115DM motors I ripped a fin out shortly after leaving the pad. I guess it was too much. But it was my building technique. Thick fillets from the fins...
If you are talking about CG for just the fins, there’s no need to enter it. If you don’t enter it, it will default to something like 0 which means 0” from the forward end of the object. The important thing is to override mass and CG for the entire model. Balance the rocket on your finger and...
If you are adding the CG location of the fins themselves just think of the fins as a separate entity and where their own CG would be. Probably somewhere in the middle of the fin. Although there’s not much point in doing that. Best to finish the rocket and override mass and CG for the whole...
Most black powder comes in plastic containers. Get a wood toolbox if you like wood, but plastic is not an issue for static and sparks. Literally all of my rocket stuff is in plastic tubs, including black powder and igniters.
MDRM’s are out of stock. Estes is out of nose cones with no date to restock. They removed it from the website. I have all other kits in stock at my website.
AMW is open. Robert and Gloria headed east to escape the heat in Arizona and since there aren’t many launches going on. I assume they are still fulfilling orders remotely.
For the Cherokees I made about 100. Lost a few to tubes damaged in shipping. Took some tubes for other projects. It's not too difficult to make more. I'll just need to order some tubes. I think I have enough graphics for another small batch.
Not yet. Most people contact me on Facebook Messenger as I'm always on there and the only Toby Vanderbeek in the world. You can also message me here but I don't check every day.
That’s where I get them for my Mega Der Red Max clones. Anyone can get them. But then there’s the problem of fins. You can get those at Erockets. But then you’ve got all the other parts: motor retainer, rail buttons and launch lugs, parachute, shock cord, etc. maybe erockets has all of that but...
On J500 to J570 my sim says about 15k’. It’s no record but plenty high and a lot of fun. J500 takes the pair to about 5000’ and the sustainer goes well from there.
Those who want the backlight button can easily add it by drilling one hole in the case.
This is the button/switch that Eric and I used: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0171M3380/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_MvkZDb3TXXGG3. I probably have the extras here somewhere and I'm willing to ship them to anyone...
I do. I have them available for a few different sizes of nose cone. All laser cut plywood. Nice mounting ring. Inexpensive and effective. PM me if you want more details.
