What did you do rocket wise today?

Managed to do some sanding on the six rockets that I have built over the last couple of months. These include from Estes, the Red Max, the Goblin, Expadition, the Puma, and the Lynx. And then from Art Applewhite, the 18mm Pyramid.

What did you do rocket wise today?

Weather got up to 53 degrees today so I decided to take a chance and do some priming as I have half dozen rockets waiting for paint (Expedition, Der Red Max, Goblin, Puma, Lynx, and an Art Applewhite Pyramid). I also tried to paint the Goblin and the Red Max nose cones with some black paint, but...

I've done that in the past but now I just pull the coupon up on my cell phone. So much easier. Never without now.

What did you do rocket wise today?

Still trying to recover from the loss of my wife and I's anniversary rocket on the 9th of July (last seen headed over the woods). It was the 4th and last flight of the 3D MD (a modified Big Daddy). Will be building its replacement (3D MD II) as soon as I can get another Big Daddy and another...

What was the first rocket you ever launched?

Estes X-Ray with a 2" grasshopper for a "Bug-A-Naught" in Texas in the summer of 1964. Both grasshopper and rocket survived the flight to fly again.

What did you do rocket wise today?

I have started one of three winter projects. The first is a scratch built 18mm powered bird that I'm calling the Solar Surfer. I'm using Open Rocket 14.11 for the design layout. Here's a shot of the basic layout. The smaller two fins will be mounted top and bottom for a four fin design.

Estes - Estes Jetliner (#3230) Gallery

Great looking rocket. Had to go buy one myself and also made the 18mm mod. as this just screamed at me for more power. Love how mine levels off at apogee and flies like a real jet for a short time before ejection charge fires. Nice addition to my Goony fleet.
