Motor cases with flush aft closures

The DMS from Aerotech has options without a thrust ring. I have a flush boat tail closure for CTI 29mm hardware and with 1-6xl case options you might even find a motor in stock somewhere for your project. And most of the CTI loads us a standard Ematch as the initiator, so electronic staging...

For the cyclists here (who might actually care about such things)....

I grew up riding bikes everywhere, then cars... I still have my 1999 Dimond back racing X2 mountain bike. Trusty specs: medium aluminum frame, full suspension, Marzocchi Z2 front fork (100mm?), Fox vanilla rear coil over shock, 3x9 drivetrain, v brakes, carbon bars on a Titec neck, shortend...

smallest gps that can run off of a small watch battery?? any exist??

I bought some Vifly drone buzzers. If I was trying to track a JLCR that's were I would start. It's small, reasonably loud, usb rechargeable, auto turns on once stationary, has a bright LED if it's dark vs buzzer the entire time. https://viflydrone.com/products/vifly-beacon-drone-buzzer

Which dimensional drawing is actually true

I flew this motor a while ago, amazing bright white flame. I still have the used nozzle but used the 75mm adapter system in a longer case 75/5120. Rocket specs: 8" / 20.32cm diameter, 144"/3.66m tall, weight about 62lbs / 28.12kg on the launch pad. Apogee of 1,900 feet / 579.12m and max...

chute size calculations... am i reading this right?

https://fruitychutes.com/help_for_parachutes/parachute-descent-rate-calculator I have used this and open rocket to simulate decent rates. Then after flights and recording actual decent rates I adjust my simulations.

Need Advice on "H" Motor for Level 1 Cert

Part of the high power journey is proper motor selection. A lot of factors go into this and without more information it's hard to nail down the "good" motor for the certification attempt. Building an accurate simulation of the rocket (I use open rocket) and making sure each part matches your...

For Sale 1/2" Flat kevlar Mule tape by Neptco

They say it's rated for 2500lbs, my concern if used on a fiberglass project the edge of the booster and the like cutting it. I am using it to make leaders for my tubular nylon harness. I have a MC Frenzy XL (4" cardboard kit) using this. It weighs in at 11lbs with a 54mm K motor. I would...

    igniters recommendation

It's in the correct section of the forum but the verbiage is off. I buy ematches from my local motor vendor, I also buy motor initiators from my local motor vendor also. Online source for ematches: https://www.skylighter.com/cart https://electricmatch.com/ Motor initiators...

    Lucky to be alive

Oh my! Grateful no one died or sustained major injury. I hope for a quick recovery for you and the other driver.

    Rebel Moon

I also felt the trailer has been misleading. I am a Star Wars fan and can see the similarities, RM is definitely more violent. I was not surprised by the lead characters past, just surprised on how She was living on the farming moon prior to the arrival. I have about 40min left to watch.

Just 41, on the young end of the group I see.

    Hi Tech / Low Power?

Open rocket. It's a great simulation software, it's as good as the information you input. I don't have a Hitech 45, wanted one for a bit. I have other 2.5" diameter park flier rockets, a Jolly logic chute release fits easily in the air frame.

Launch rail velocity - simulated vs actual

I did make it out for another launch with the Chronograph. The same rocket, weight, reload and launch setup as last time. It was colder and windy for attempt #2. The FSmini recorded and everything looks good. The rail exit velocity was 5% less then last time, the rest of the flight...

    Off the rail velocity POLL

I made it out with the Chronograph again, this time the FSmini recorded the flight. The same rocket and launch setup, another AT D15T reload. Weight on the pad matched the previous flight, it was colder and windy (10-15mph average). Within 5% rail exit velocity from the previous launch...

Musings on Certification Cutoffs and L motors

I was amazed flying my L1 and L2. As a BAR I just became aware of composite motors, and my first one was a F44w econojet in a scratch built bt60 rocket. Shortly after I found my L1 rocket on clearance at the hobby store. I flew the G40w that morning as a test flight before the sparky H115 at...

    Least expensive tracking device?

https://www.missileworks.com/ I have the t3 system and use the rocket locator app (blue gps) on my android phone to show where the rocket is on Google map/earth. I also picked up a couple eggfinder kits but have not soldered them together yet.
