Featherweight Blue Raven Development Thread: Deployment logic

I was mainly thinking of situations where barometric could be a problem, such as high altitude or if the required altimeter placement is in a bad spot like the nose cone tip. Jeff

Featherweight Blue Raven Development Thread: Deployment logic

Does this mean that GPS based deployment is a possibility with the Blue Raven? Jeff

List of suppliers who state the airframe material on all rockets.

While I agree that some go overboard with their responses, I think you should reread the OP's first post again. First, he claims to be mentoring "new people", then talks about them flying kits on K motors. That probably raised a few eye brows. Second, in my opinion: To me, this implies the...

    Featherweight software

Thanks for the great explanation. Now I think I understand the problem better. Your solution sounds interesting. Looking forward to trying it out.

    Featherweight software

For the Multitronix system, an id is assigned to each transmitter (tracker) Vern sells. You then input the id into the receiver (ground station) and the two are locked together. Is something like that possible?

I have a dream: standardization for GPS trackers

If this is true, then why don't we have 33mm, 57mm and 95mm motors? 38, 54 and 98mm have become a de facto standard I assume not because consumers demanded it but rather for practical reasons, like available airframe or motor case tubing sizes (I admit I don't know the actual answer). Also...

    Featherweight software

Thank you for your work on this project. I just want to mention that as an existing user, I consider getting the app released to the app store as a pretty big benefit, and would really like to see it get moved up on the priority list.

    Featherweight software

I'm not sure how well this feature works. It seems to me that it may still need some more development. Featherweight GPS Trackers in Multi-Stage Rocket

The date code is Apr 3 2019. It was purchased from Wildman's in Nov 2019. I received it in March of 2020. I haven't reached out to Tim yet. I just opened it a couple of hours ago. I checked the faces of all the grains. Only the two grains with the "smooth faces" show a gap.

Does that mean I shouldn't fly the motor?

    CTI Discussion Thread

Hi, I am building my first N motor for Midwest Power and have a quick question. It is an N2600 6G 98mm. Four of the six grains look like this: but two them each have a face that looks like this: I wasn't sure if this is something I need to remove or everything is ok as is. Anyway I...

Featherweight GPS Trackers in Multi-Stage Rocket

I agree that the website and documentation is short on details about this feature. It appears my assumptions about how it worked aren't too good either. I think it would be good to hear from Adrian or Kevin about how they intended the "Multi-Stage" feature to work. Jeff

Featherweight GPS Trackers in Multi-Stage Rocket

I am building a two stage rocket and was planning to use the two tracker one GS method, but you have given me a moment of pause. Needless to say I'm concerned that my planned solution may now be $200,00 more expensive than I thought. The website is confusing, it says only one GS is needed, but...

Featherweight GPS Trackers in Multi-Stage Rocket

Does this mean that before a two stage rocket separates, that only one tracker will work? That could be a problem if you wanted to to do a pre launch check of the trackers.

    CF Fin attachment

I flew a 2245 in a 4 inch Extreme Wildman with a more conventional recovery (CO2/BP Canister) when LDRS was at AirFest. At the time it was mentioned that they were swamped with high altitude requests with time running short. If that is the case now, maybe it is just that they don't have the...
