CMASS Hosting Three TARC Practice/Qualifying Launches - 2019

Bumping thread once again. Long range forecast for this Saturday (March 23) is for a decent day but windy. We will be there if needed. Is there really no area teams that need a place to launch and someone to observe this year?

    EVENT CMASS Winter Follies 2019

Thanks for the heads up on the 5 motor cluster. I will make sure we have at least one relay available. What motors is she planning on using? Guy.

    Anyone watching Nightflyers?

I am not a big fan of Horror in general, but there was enough of non-horror to keep me interested. Not the best Sci-Fi I have seen, but not the worst either. It would have been better if it was a little less cryptic as to what is actually occurring, but I guess that is part and parcel for the...

CANCELLED Mother Nature wins this one - CMASS 17 November 2018 Launch and Night Launch - Amesbury, MA

All of the various size rails are in the trailer. Just ask and we can substitute it at one of the 3/16" or 1/4" pads. Guy.

Now on 11 Nov - MMMSC 10 November 2018 Scheduled Launch - Berwick, ME

Just a little bit more info. Level 1 certifications are generally no problem as there are always level 1 certified flyers at a MMMSC launch to witness attempts. For a level 2 certification, we need at least one level 2 certified flyer to witness attempts. If anyone is planning on doing a level 2...

MMMSC 20 October 2018 Scheduled Launch - Berwick, ME

Forecast is for wind and clouds. Meaning, plan to keep flights lower than the forecasted cloud levels, which last I checked depending on the time of day is for 3,100 to 6,500 ft and average winds at ground level of 12-13 MPH. I would expect that Wildman CT would probably like at least a minimum...

    CATO's and Launch Pad Design

Yes, pads 4, 5 and 6 are out of frame to the left. It is a big circle of pads purposely designed to give the required distances between pads for low power motors. Kenn is planning on posting a diagram illustrating our layout.

    CATO's and Launch Pad Design

Actually, the center of the circle is to the right of the picture. What is missing is that the Cato occurred on pad 3. Frank and Linda are standing at pad 7 and pad 8 is the other pad in the picture. Pads are numbered 1-11 clockwise around the circle. Guy.

MMMSC 08 September 2018 Launch Moved From 01 September

I have a brand spanking new cash box populated with change to use (assuming I don't forget to bring it). See you all there! Guy.

MMMSC 08 September 2018 Launch Moved From 01 September

Claude Maina spent a quite a bit of time looking for a lost rocket of his during this past Saturday's launch. He found two rockets, one of which the owner has already been located and we will be returning that rocket. The other is missing the nosecone and parachute, as the shock cord looks to...

*** POSTPONED TO 25 AUGUST *** MMMSC 18 August 2018 Scheduled Launch - Berwick, ME

I actually just finished cleaning and repainting the CMASS (short and long) mini rails. I will bring them along. Guy.

MMMSC 21 July 2018 Launch - Berwick, ME

Beautiful day for a launch and well attended. We did 67 flights, 1 level 1 Cert and 1 level 2 Cert if I recall correctly. We had one K motor cato that was pretty spectacular on the far high power pad. Thanks to all who helped set up and tear down the range. Royce found the trees with his Nike...

MMMSC First Launch of the Season - 05 May 201

Looking forward to the first launch of the year. Looking to fly my refurbished LOC Viper III and my original Heart Healthy Breakfast. A nose cone/parachute/harness was found last year and Scott gave it to me to have available to return to the owner. Not sure if the owner was known or if it is I...

Anybody here build there own launch system?

Here is a 2 pad launch controller that I built for one of our club members. It allows for using either extension cords, 1/4" phono plug cables or Anderson connector cables (all of which are used in one form or another by CMASS and MMMSC). Guy.

Who's Got a VOIP Phone Service?

I have had Vonage for years. I have high speed internet as well, and other than an issue early on where a call would drop out for 1-2 minutes (but still be connected) that was resolved by getting a new router, I have been very happy with it.
