What did you do rocket wise today?

Started not one, but three 29mm MD apogee aspires (modded to go Mach 1.2) with my son. Vitamin tubes make for perfect NC extensions to fit GPS and JLA3… (well, once they’re reinforced with two card bulkheads and epoxy…)

Two things to note: 1) he’s responsible for getting me and my sons into rocketry with that very video. 2) I found out just last night that he died in a paragliding accident mid 2019, at age 38... so very sad.

It's a FAKE!! I think the Hubward mountains would be visibly higher, and the Rimfall would likely cast a shadow... Also - light passing through magical fields casts an Octarine shadow, doesn't it? But I can smell the cabbage from the plains on the way to StoLat, so I guess there is that...

Heating is always Amps. Arcing is volts. Poor connection means all the current is travelling across not enough contact and you get super heating...

As someone who works for a company making high powered DC EV car chargers (50kW - 350kW) this scares the life out of me. The care that needs to be taken to torque the bus bar connectors down is serious and this is on the lower spectrum of how stuff like that can go abjectly wrong in my...

3D Printing CAD files for Eggfinder Mini, EggTimer Quantum and RRC3

STEP files work. Zipping is your friend. Failing that, DM me and I’ll give you my email address. I have a server I can host the files on and put a link back in. Otherwise - maybe submit the files to grabcad- that’s what their site is for! [emoji4]

I went to school with a kid who lived in a farm. They had a Rhodesian Ridgeback named Sam. He rode the dog like a horse around the farm from 3-6 years old. From 6yo to 13yo he played rugby with Sam. You’d grab the ball and start running - she’d give you a head start, then run you down and...

3D Printing CAD files for Eggfinder Mini, EggTimer Quantum and RRC3

Team - long time to chat.. life gets in the way, yadda yadda... I finally bit, and bought myself a 3d printer, so I am working on lots of CAD fun with Fusion 360.. I am looking to make some sleds for my Eggfinder Minis, Eggtimer Quantum's and RRC3.. Here's the ask: does anyone have decent 3d...

What did you do rocket wise today?

I’m waiting to hear back from the power company. The field is 1hr20mins from my house, and I couldn’t hang around to wait for them. I thought we had a special arrangement with the local crew through the club, but it turned out that arrangement ceased when the club board member stopped...

What did you do rocket wise today?

Prepped Deadpool for the club launch tomorrow. Well, by “prepped” I mean: I’ve checked I have a motor, a bag of stuff that I’m pretty sure has all the recovery gear in it, and some 4f... No kids with me tomorrow so I’m playing the lazy game and I’ll prep it onsite tomorrow. I have a few...
