The Mark 14 Torpedo_Must see if Ya have some spare virus lockdown time

Quite a bit of it actually correlates to the electronics we use in rocketry to this day. Also pretty embarrassing as far as our Military/Government/Politics are concerned. Moral of the story is: Actual testing trumps theory and or half arsed cost cutting testing pretty much every time. We have...

    Clustered Laserhawk - Questions

Was a beautiful flight. Think those were E 16-0s, an F 15-0 and an F 15-8? in the second stage. Never saw the sustainer again though, just dissapeared. Cheap thrills, gonna cobble another sustainer and re-visit that one, hopefully this spring/summer.

    Clustered Laserhawk - Questions

I can show you some nice non-seperating side pod booster zippers from a 2 stage set up. Had a pair of 29mm E's with an F15 core as a 1st (or booster ) stage. Probably 25ish pound kevlar and some 1 1/2" x 10" space blanket streamers just tied on the kevlar with granny knots. Everyone thought the...

3D Printing Desiccating Filament under Vacuum

Although I have several options at hand for drying filament I've yet to try it. I do have a couple of spools that could stand some drying but they just get put in the "I'll get around to that later" pile. When I get to the point where I'm not sitting on 20ish+ full and partial spools I'm sure I...

For what most of us do, it wouldn't matter

    Carbon fiber sled

Glass is actually more tough. Carbon has less mass for same.

Fiberglass or carbon fiber? Nah. I'm thinking pants.

I hear Ya on that one. I actually have a really nice pump/bagging system but the Foodsaver is the go to for convenience. Or, I may just be lazy...

Vacuum Saver is a great way if you're on a budget as a lot of us tend to be. You can achieve great things using your head more than your wallet.

You can use Polyester resin in lieu of epoxy but I and pretty much everyone else reccomend against it. It's cheaper, but that's about it's only benefit.

Jelly by itself? Not really sure but probably a year or so just to be certain..

That looks like a sweet piece. Unfortunately assume shipping costs would suck. If only I were closer by, as in about 1000 miles closer..Keep up the good work...

Fiberglass or carbon fiber? Nah. I'm thinking pants.

The term "composite" can easily be misleading. In it's most basic form a peanut butter and jelly sandwich is a composite since it's composed of multiple materials. Sort of like when you want to make someone sound inherently evil by stating they live on a compound. A compound, in it's basic form...

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but...US Composites has about the best prices I've seen for not only epoxies but alot of other useful items you tend to need. Could probably get quart sizes for less than what it'd take to build a single rocket using tubes of JB Weld.

I find it hard to believe this is real..

    Carbon fiber sled

May not be the best idea, but many have proven other ideas otherwise. Please post results.
