Greetings! New member buying LOC IV with lots of questions!

I misunderstood what you were getting at earlier. The Reload Adapter System (RAS) includes a forward floating closure (with threaded retaining ring) that can substitute for the regular forward closure. The Aft closure is still needed with or without spacer/RAS. See the 38mm RAS instructions from...

Greetings! New member buying LOC IV with lots of questions!

Welcome back to the hobby. I built a LOC IV as my return into rocketry since the long break from my childhood. The LOC IV is a fantastic looking rocket. I broke fins and repaired them on two occasions during many flights. I did fiberglass the fins during the second repair, and never had another...

    AT J 500T-P 75 mm x 1280 reload?

75mm and 98mm are pre cut and pre cored from RCS. Anything smaller you have to cut and core yourself.

    Failed L1 attempt

I'd recommend not attaching the parachute directly to the payload bay. This is common in LPR but can cause issues with the often heavily weighted noses often found in HPR. I usually tie a larks head knot in the shock cord about 2/3 of the way up and attach the parachute through the loop created.

best commercial ignitors for loki motors?

I've had hit or miss luck with Estes Sonic igniters, but a Sonic dipped in Quickburst Quick Dip (or similar) will light a 38-120 evey time. Just don't forget to bend the tip slightly to make sure it makes contact with the propellant.

    Telemini ground station req?

Without a (working) signal meter, you can use a directional antenna ( like a yagi) and an external attenuator. This will attenuate the beeps and help you determine direction. Search for UHF Fox Hunting on your favorite search engine for ideas and methods. There are many ways to do it. Without...

ShredStes - the great PSII massacre :)

My fully glassed (except nose cone) Star Orbiter came down in flames on a DMS H135, but was the victim of a motor failure. MESS report filed. Need to rebuild and try again next year. Should have it break apart closer to the nose cone so an I205 will fit.

Very interested in your results. I just purchased a pair of generic UNOs from the Amazon prime day sale earlier this month.

    38mm 1 grain rockets

I modifed a Loc Lil' Nuke to 38mm expressly for the Loki 38mm G's. The 5 second (minimum) delay G's work good in 4" rockets, but some have a minimum delay of 8 seconds, so I built the Lil'Nuke.

How To Build A Wireless Launch Controller

I think the assumption is there is still a box at the LCO station and a second box at the pad (1000 ft away give or take). The Bluetooth connection would be to the box at the LCO. I've thrown an idea around in my head to use very directional antennas with WiFi, then using a router to connect to...

    Adept T400 tracker

AM is Amplitude Modulation and CW is Continuous Wave modulation. CW is basically Morse Code. AM is the same as the AM in your car radio AM/FM, though different frequency. The AM output from the adept is described as a BEEP/BOOP pattern of tones(adjustable.) My recommendation is unless you...

Try Muzzleloaders Supply in Puyallup, WA. Picked up a pound of Goex 4F there last year. I'd call ahead and make sure it's in stock.

    Aerotech Arcas OpenRocket .ork file

Just open the .rkt file in Open Rocket. Then file -> save as a .ork file. IIRC, there is a drop down box to switch from .rkt to .ork in the save dialog box.
