    Solar Launch controller

I bought one of these controllers when it was first released back in 1972. I did not use it much as I had plenty of the 'old' igniters which would not work with the Solar Launch Controller. I still have it. One neat feature was on the back of the box was listed all the Estes rocket models in...

Estes Der Red Max Long Sleeve Shirt?

When Randy Boadway of eRockets bought Semroc I believe the first new kit he released was a clone of the Estes Goblin kit. He offered a limited edition Goblin T-Shirt for an extra charge with the purchase of the Goblin kit.

Guess for new rockets in the Estes 2024 Catalog

This is common. By not listing pricing in the catalog, Estes can make one printing of the catalog and just include updated pricing sheets throughout the year. Hmmm...I expect this means we will see at least one more price increase before the end of the year. :(

Guess for new rockets in the Estes 2024 Catalog

Uh, no. John Boren (Estes R&D) made a 'high-power' version of the classic Maxi-Brute Pershing 1A. It needed a pound of noseweight. Estes would want the kit to fly on it's own motors. I would recommend the Boyce Aerospace Hobbies version of the Pershing 1A if you would like such a model.

    EnerJet F52-12C

Or... You could wait for the release of the (AeroTech) Enerjet Nike Ram kit. It really scoots on an F52-12!

    Estes' new Aramid shock cord

The real question is what is Estes doing with Aramid/Kevlar line? Will there be future kits/products which use this material?

    AeroTech Open Thread

I was the one who discussed the reason for most of the 18mm RMS reloads being discontinued. At the time the 18mm RMS reloads (B6, C4. C6, C12, D13, D24, E27) were released AeroTech had many major hobby distributors who bought product. These hobby distributors were AeroTech's primary...

    The B14 is back!

The Estes B14 motor last appeared in the 1979 catalog. The 1980 Estes catalog introduced the B8 motors. Interestingly, the 1980 Centuri catalog still listed the B14 motors. The 1981 Centuri catalog had both the B8 and B14 motors. Centuri's 1982 catalog only listed the B8. The C5 motor was...

CIWS is not a “Machine Gun”. Come on CNN. Don’t Be Sloppy with Facts.

I attended a presentation on the CWIS system many years ago. The Navy Chief who was talking described how the system worked: "Flip the switch and jump overboard".

Has Estes customer service declined since Bill Stine left?

The issue with Heidi during the vNARCON 2024 Manufacts Forum was that she had a poor WiFi connection which kept dropping. I don't know if Todd Schweim's comments to me were heard by the general audience but that's what Todd was telling me. Mallory jumped in to make the presentation but she was...

    The B14 is back!

I agree. I have flown 'classic' B14s via the NAR's Expired Motor program but the QJet B14s look like a lot of fun. Who thought 'B' motors would get so much attention? ;)
