What did you do rocket wise today?

Special technology reinforced the connection between the engine and the pipe. Furthermore, 2 times painted the fins. As you know unpainted rocket flying 300 k is much worse than perfectly painted flying at 300 feet :)

Would this motor work for what I'm doing?

Even more than 100k feet can be lifted balloon :) You do not think that a balloon can go to space? All these limits are contingent. For me, real space begins even beyond Earth's orbit, Тhese satellites constantly keep them in orbit so as not to fall to the ground :)Аmateur rocket...

Elon Musk announces details of "Interplanetary Transport System" at IAC

I read it. I think the only problem of Musk is where he will find the money for such flights. If a manned flight has 10 unmanned that are ...incredibly much money. If he can cheat a bank to grant him 300 billion and then depart for Mars bank will not be able to return the money in any way :)

Jet Engine in a Model Rocket?

As can be seen from the video engine does not have enough thrust and the rocket can not be stabilized. This can be achieved with a system for managing thrust or if the engines are more but it is costly and difficult to implement. Much easier and cheaper it is achieved with an engine using solid...

Jet Engine in a Model Rocket?

The advantages of this engine is that it does not bear the oxidant with him. Takes oxygen from the air. It can work relatively long time. The disadvantages are that a greater altitude where there is no oxygen, it can not work. Another disadvantage is that compared to engine of solid fuel is much...

Would this motor work for what I'm doing?

I think that Jim Yarvis and 5-6 as him will not be a problem to build such a rocket to stabilize and steer in the correct orbit:)

Rocket Launch on the Local News

This is great! Instead children to deal with crap on the internet and facebook!

Jet Engine in a Model Rocket?

Of course you can. Tomahawk is such an engine :) But I think it is more suitable for longer manageable flying rocket. Vertical flight Ordinary engine with solid fuel is more simple and convenient :)

NASA SLS Booster Nozzle Plug Pieces Fly During Test - Ultra-slow-motion

Yes, I watched it yesterday. NASA continues to hold such an idiotic structure as was the shuttle. Oxigen- hydrogen engines and solid boosters. I think the rockets SpaceX and Amazon are much more promising.Especially rocket of Amazon seems most well thought out.

Would this motor work for what I'm doing?

Adopted is a uniform limit of 100 km. It can be achieved with much smaller rocket. But I understand the goal is to drive payload in orbit. It is much more difficult because you must fostigne speed of eight kilometers per second. As in the 60's and 70 and 80 and 90 it was unthinkable a private...

Would this motor work for what I'm doing?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JakicLZgN-o This can put 0.3-1 kg into orbit :)

Would this motor work for what I'm doing?

Hobby engines can be used for vertical stabilization of the rocket and its inclination to enter the correct trajectory for orbital flight :)

Would this motor work for what I'm doing?

Machines - one for tight winding tube from fiberglass. Not too expensive. A lathe for making the nozzle. A press for pressing grains around 70-80 kg each :) Short about 50k dollars and have small satellite :)
  14. SaturnV

Would this motor work for what I'm doing?

The technology is clear. Pipe of the engine fiberglass and epoxy. Fuel - ammonium perchlorate and aluminum associated with epoxy. Metal nozzle with graphite insertions. But you will need fire tests and this makes the project more expensive. With hobby engines- forgot:)

Would this motor work for what I'm doing?

Two words for one person and such ready engines is mission impossible. But powerful organization with many members and own engines is not impossible.

Would this motor work for what I'm doing?

This is the smallest rocket that I could find. Able to put a small satellite of low orbit. As you can see biger of any amateur rocket you have seen. It should also be launched from an airplane at 40,000 feet. On the other hand the payload is 400 kg. Mass of rocket 18 500 kg. Payload of the...

What did you do rocket wise today?

I'd like one small lathe. It would solve all my problems in rocketry. Now a straight hole can not drill :)

What did you do rocket wise today?

Painted fins yellow . Why the hell not bought red paint? The Reds are much better but these are good for easy finding a rocket.

Would this motor work for what I'm doing?

Not only 2 and 200 such motors can not get orbital speed of eight kilometers per second. Only rough mathematical reasoning can be shown that the orbit can be displayed only in rocket in that fuel is 90% of the mass of the rocket and engine has very good parameters. Rather, the issue is...
