    Laser Engraving on Glasses

You have a rotary axis for that to do glasses and bottles? I've done a few glasses (Christmas present this year) and I etched a bottle of Jefferson's Reserve bourbon as a gift for a couple in my rocket club. I've been using the RA to cut airframe tubing to length and to cut fin slots. I'm...

    Safety Incident from NSL:

I built an alarm in my system's remotes at the launch pad. It sounds like a backup alarm on a vehicle. It was added to provide two things... It audibly announces that the remote cue has been enabled for launch. Therefore, clear the area. It's to appease safety codes. If you here it, you...

    Happiest songs you've ever heard.

I was just thinking bassists. Yes, Emerson was a tragic loss. I've seen 500+ bands live, many as a repeat attender, and I've met so many of the greats. Sadly, I've never been one to get my photo taken with them. I have that YES group photo because there was somebody taking group photos, so...

    Happiest songs you've ever heard.

YES has become a cover band of YES. Jon Davidson, IMNSHO, should have stayed in Glass Hammer. Jon Anderson should be at the helm vocally. And, yes, YES is not the same without Chris Squire. Losing Chris Squire in 2015, then Greg Lake in 2016 and then, John Wetton in 2017 is so sad.

    Happiest songs you've ever heard.

Signed by all of the YES personnel for CttE and TfTO. Roger Dean, who did the artwork of both, also signed. This is probably my favorite signed "trophy" of all. If there's any doubt to the authenticity, here's another photo. ;) As for the shirt itself, I'm a big TfTO fan and I've seen them...

    What is your favorite scale?!

Depends upon what you need when weighing. Most digital postal scales have pretty good resolution to fractions of a gram. I purchased an American Weigh PS-25 scale 2 years ago. I liked it because it has a build in shelf that can be used to cradle a rocket airframe. I'm been to launches where...

Can a JLCR prevent zippers for mis-timed ejection events?

JLCR can help as can a significantly longer shock cord/tether. I recently flew a rocket -- a NCR kit-- that uses a steel rope connected to the MMT. A small zipper occurred. I took a ping-pong ball and drilled small holes at its "poles" and slipped it over the steel rope. The ping-pong ball...

Applying Monokote or Ultracote Heat Shrink Film to rockets

I received 3 rolls of chrome Ultracote yesterday. I can't wait to try it to see how well I can control it. I still have some chrome Monokote, so my first tests will be to gauge the shrinkage characterists of Ultracote in comparison with Monokote. Once I see that, I should be ready to go. I...

Applying Monokote or Ultracote Heat Shrink Film to rockets

OK. I've just always had a convenient supplier of Monokote, so that's what I've used. The hobby shop where I always purchased Monokote also had Econokote (also a Top Flite brand) but I always thought the colors looked better/deeper/shinier/brighter in the Monokote.

Applying Monokote or Ultracote Heat Shrink Film to rockets

THANKSx1e+06!!!!! I checked out the web site and downloaded their product description file (English). There's also a link to a US distributor. Not only do they carry a product equivalent to Monokote but the have many more colors as well as pattern (chequered) coverings. I feel a bit better...

Applying Monokote or Ultracote Heat Shrink Film to rockets

At least some bits of Hobbico were saved. Estes, for example. I just found some Ultracote Chrome on Amazon. I purchased 3 rolls of it. I'll post back here after it arrives and I've had a chance to assess it in comparison/contrast to/with my experiences using Monokote.
