    ASP Neo

My basic class this year are building the ASP Neo. This is a nice little rocket and straight-forward build for beginners. I cranked out some decal mock-ups as a demo for them to customize their rockets. This is my 16th year of running these classes out of my library. It hasn't gotten old. I...

    Heat (Missile Inspired)

Inspired by a nose cone I bought from ASP and the news of Ukraine's Neptune missile taking out the Moskva, I thought, huh, that nose cone would look good on a missile-esque rocket.

Commercial Fireworks Igniters as Backup for Aerotech Igniters.

Last fall I had a G motor that didn't ignite and didn't have a spare igniter with me to retry the launch. I do have commercial fireworks igniters and was wondering if they produced enough heat to ignite the propellant? I haven't tried it yet and thought I would ask before I crap-up a motor...

Suggestion of a tracker for use in low/mid power rockets?

I need something lightweight, not overly expensive, that can be used in a BT 60 or 55 frame in addition to a payload. Thanks for looking and your time. Steve

    Magnum clone x2 24mm powered

Finished up building a magnum clone. The fin placement is a bit high because I increased the booster length to accommodate the gap for the motors and staging coupler. Thanks for looking.

    Modified Loadstar and CC Express

Loadstar was modified to 24mm. The plan is to use both to test effects of Gs on inoculated seeds. Thanks for looking.

    Magnum Nose Cone

Off hand, does anyone know if the Magnum’s nose cone is the same as the Vagabond’s?

    RockSim V 10

I just upgraded yesterday from 9 and was wondering if anyone has been using 10 for awhile and what are your thoughts?

    Need Some Help

I'm searching for some clear tubing for a payload bay that will fit a BT 55 tube. T 12 and T-8 bulb covers are either too large or too small. I need something that is not pre-cut to a specific length. On a personal note, it's nice to be back here. The past few years have been pretty hard on me...

    Philosophical Question

Historians write, for other historians and it is said, that women, dress for other women. Is it fair to say that rocketeers build for other rocketeers?:grin:

    Anyone build an R7?

I just like it's lines, I've always admired it for some indescribable reason, and I'm reading about Sputnik. Wondering if anyone scratch built one and how big of a can of worms it would be. Built one as a paper model a few years back.

    Quest, what's the deal?

Yesterday during our rocketry class the boys were building the Quest Gamma Ray and discovered that several of the kits were a mish-mash of parts from other kits. None of the nose cones and transitions fit the Gamma Ray kit to include various sizes of standoffs and launch lugs. I was forced to...

    Hobbylinc Getting Sloppy

When I first began using them I had no complaints, but the last few times I've used them I have always had body/motor tubes smashed or broken fins. My Hi-Flier XL arrived today with split fins. Very disappointed. I think I'll switch to AC Supply from now on. I've never had issues with them, and...

    Russian MR-20

I was looking through a 1998 issue of Journal of Miniature Astronautics and ran across an article on the Russian MR-20 with line drawings. I'm looking at doing this as a semi scale based on a BT50 or 55 frame. My question is,does anyone know if those are elongated loop antennas just below the...

    Ventris Question

So, I've started this kit and noticed that adding an engine block is optional. So, is this in case you choose to use the BP version of an F motor rather than a composite? In this case, you would not use the screw on retainer as well? Lastly, have any of you used the BP Fs and what are your...

The Good News, I'm Not Dead

Hi guys, Don't know if many of you remember me, but I was the library director out here in Kansas that had a healthy and growing rocketry program called,Big Creek Rocketry. Like most things, it came to an end,or perhaps just an intermission. Most of my core groups of kids moved onto junior high...
