How do some suppliers avoid hazmat shipping?

I think that was covered if you read a bit further down the thread.

    Rocketry Warehouse Adventurer 3 Build

Solid build thread, but I gotta say it might be time to retire that flag.

    L2 cert approach

I went redundant dual deploy with motor backup on both my L1 and L2 (same rocket). I figured if it was worth doing it was worth overdoing. It might've been a bit unnecessary for my first foray into HPR, but the electronics aspect was a lot of fun.

My Madcow Rocketry 4" All Fiberglass Nike-Apache two stage modifications

I don't recall where I got the Rocksim file. I have a verified OpenRocket that I made from this one.

Right Rocket for going level 2

I did my L1 and L2 with a Wildman Darkstar 2.6". It's been awesome. The kit was well made and Wildman is always great to work with. Since L2 I've taken it up to ~12,000'. At some point I might try to cram an L into it, but will need to find a higher waiver for that.

    OR Files

You probably need to change the recovery from Ejection Charge to Apogee and Altitude. The motor is a 0 second delay. With an Apogee drogue parachute the motor sims to 13,765

    nike apache questions

I used 1/4" aluminum tubing hammered into a size that would fit between the motor mount and body tube. I formed it around the mmt. Not a ton of space. I used an Eggtimer Proton for staging and dual deploy. It has a wifi switch and 6 outputs. I ran a Quantum and Quark from Eggtimer in ISC. The...

    Dual Deploy

Here is the altimeter bay for my Wildman Darkstar 2.6. It has an Eggtimer TRS and Altus Metrum EasyMini wired up to 3 lipos (1 for the easy mini and 2 for the TRS). Main power for both is controlled by mag switches and there is a pin headphone jack setup for the TRS deployment charge power...

The World-Famous Eggtimer Rocketry Holiday Sale

Agreed! Moving to the TRS was a walk in the park compared to the small side on that hell board.

The World-Famous Eggtimer Rocketry Holiday Sale

I bought one of these before I did my first board (the TRS) and it worked really well to get me used to soldering up the SMD components. It didn't come with all the right components though... Still good practice. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VWB8F8K/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

Big Bird: A copyright lawyer's nightmare

Kinda late to the show, but I wanted to share the (top quality) video I got of the launch. It's terrible. I hope you try again. That would have been an awesome flight.

    Darkstar 2.6 L1 Rocket

I did my L1/L2 on a Darkstar 2.6! It worked out pretty great, but I did dual deploy for both. If you plan on using it for DD in the future I'd just set it up like you were going to fly DD. Use push rivets to hold the payload tube to the AV bay and then friction fit/shear pin the nose. You could...

Talk to me about switches and redundancy

This is wild, but I guess it makes sense. I've never heard of a flight with two chute releases plugged into each other. I dig it. What size rocket and why not set it up for a traditional dual deploy? That feels like a lot of electronics.

First time use of electronics for redundant single deploy on L1 cert?

Probably just reiterating what most are saying, but if you are comfortable with the electronics then go for it. I used a dual altimeter dual deploy setup in my 2.6" Darkstar for my L1 because the electronics aspect piqued my interest. It also led right into my L2 flight. I figure that if it is...

    Madcow/Rocketry Warehouse DoubleShot

I can try to get a picture, but the jig and saw are at my dad's place. The base of the jig runs along the fence and the fence was set so the blade was almost touching the jig. The supports that hold the mounting surface doubled as handles to push the jig through. I am thinking about making...
