Welcome, I also got my start around 70 and am getting back into it with the grandkids now have built several rockets as well as launched a couple from my childhood (yes I still have a few and a couple are in great shape)

Hey, I have to wonder on the all of Estes rockets ever offered gallery Why is there no big bertha that is a staple for over 40 years what gives on that. if my memory serves me I think there may be some others missing as well. PYRO1962

I am building one to fly on D power right now and don't really plan anything special in the way of construction may use a balsa NC with a little weight other than that just fly it and see. PYRO1962

I have an original egg crate from 1971 built it with my dad in 71 or 72 wow did not realize it was that old. will try and down load a pic some day it is old and the paint is not good anymore structurally I think it would still fly I honestly don't remember ever launching it. kind of sad. PYRO1962

Does anyone have an original Estes Cherokee D kit had one as a kid loved it they were so Bad A back in the day. Also I know this one is a little questionable but I don't suppose any body has any of the old Jet X wick they would like to part with. It always worked if my battery pack went belly up...
