    Estes Comanche 3

Here's mine and the landing I got today. Ejected the motor instead of the chute. Not a mark on it after it went through the shade net!

    Flying pics from today

Hi, I'm an old modeler returning to some rocketry for fun. I built a Commanche 3 from scratch and flew it on all three stages today. Here are the pics. I screwed up on the upper stage motor and it ejected instead of the chute. Not a mark on it after it went through the shade net!

... there was a "club" at one time, but they are now mothballed due to lack of a launch field. WE go to the LUNAR launches at SnowRanch when we can. ;) to any questions. TonyF

Are you happy with your job / career?

Here... Here....!!! I second that.. My job got off-shored back in Sept. I'm now hunting for a job as a Technical Support Consultant in Unix anywhere in California. Pay cut will be severe since I was at the top of the food chain at my old company. Either that, or change careers...

    Hummm.... Estes QuickFire RC Airplane

Yup.....that's it... page 39 The pic on the box shows a void in the rear between the twin Rudders... From the RC_Slope plane forum, they state it is nose heavy making it necessary to have some compromise on wing design.. But for us "rocket dudes" nose heavy is good if your planning...

    Hummm.... Estes QuickFire RC Airplane

Saw one of these bad boys at WallyWorld... Catapult Launch system.. Looking at the photo, I kinda wondered whether it could be "modified" for rocket launch.... Definate possiblity since the CG must be pretty much toward the front. Information doesnt give the weight of the vehicle thou...

    Estes B6-0 Discontinued?

Yup.. That large air gap on the C11-0 DOES cause a problem.. Pre-mature staging due to the "air piston" effect of the large air volume. I solved it by installing vent holes in rockets that I planned to use that motor in... Too bad it is no longer available. TonyF

Estes Launch Controller - too short?

Yup... Yet things *CAN GO WRONG* I was watching a mother/father and son setup to launch a RTF xmas gift next door in the park.. Rocket was on the pad with Key/Cap on the Rod..... Looking good so far.. Parents appeared to be having problems with the controller.... Little Johnny was off...

    Weather Monitoring for the Field

With all this rotten weather in Northern California, I got to thinking of what folks use at the Launch field to monitor weather conditions.. Namely winddirection and Speed. I guess you could throw in Temp and Humidity, pressure and such if you wanted to compute Density Altitude and tweak...
