Hi, I'm an old modeler returning to some rocketry for fun. I built a Commanche 3 from scratch and flew it on all three stages today. Here are the pics. I screwed up on the upper stage motor and it ejected instead of the chute. Not a mark on it after it went through the shade net!

... there was a "club" at one time, but they are now mothballed due to lack of a launch field. WE go to the LUNAR launches at SnowRanch when we can. ;) to any questions. TonyF

Wow!!! Checked lunar.org for this coming fall/winter launches at Snow Ranch.. Livermore parks pulled their permit to launch at Robinson Park.. Bummer. TonyF

Yup.....that's it... page 39 The pic on the box shows a void in the rear between the twin Rudders... From the RC_Slope plane forum, they state it is nose heavy making it necessary to have some compromise on wing design.. But for us "rocket dudes" nose heavy is good if your planning...

Saw one of these bad boys at WallyWorld... Catapult Launch system.. Looking at the photo, I kinda wondered whether it could be "modified" for rocket launch.... Definate possiblity since the CG must be pretty much toward the front. Information doesnt give the weight of the vehicle thou...

Yup.. That large air gap on the C11-0 DOES cause a problem.. Pre-mature staging due to the "air piston" effect of the large air volume. I solved it by installing vent holes in rockets that I planned to use that motor in... Too bad it is no longer available. TonyF

Yup... Yet things *CAN GO WRONG* I was watching a mother/father and son setup to launch a RTF xmas gift next door in the park.. Rocket was on the pad with Key/Cap on the Rod..... Looking good so far.. Parents appeared to be having problems with the controller.... Little Johnny was off...

... But I digress.... We use a Wizard... It's has numerous estes dents, broken fins, broken shock-cords, fried parachutes, fried streamers etc.... Not 'gone yet!! Tried an Estes "Guardian".. But alas, the name was too appropriate and the River Gods consumed it. TonyF...

With all this rotten weather in Northern California, I got to thinking of what folks use at the Launch field to monitor weather conditions.. Namely winddirection and Speed. I guess you could throw in Temp and Humidity, pressure and such if you wanted to compute Density Altitude and tweak...
