    Estes Launch Controller Issue?

I don't think the light will light up if the circuit isn't closed so things should be good to go. Shouldn't they?

    Estes Oracle (#2187)

They got it for nothing and so did I. If I can't get the software to work I can at least just launch it. I'm not much about keeping something in the hopes that it might be worth a bunch one day. If I did I would have kept all my baseball cards as a kid and kept them in pristine condition.;)

    Estes Oracle (#2187)

I just got one of these yesterday for my birthday and after reading this I'm not too sure about it. I didn't ask for it and my sister won it at a Tricky-Tray Auction so there is no return. Funny thing is that she doesn't remember putting tickets in for it either. I have Vista on this computer.

When was the last time you had seen one of these?

Must be from an estate sale since they have some old Centuri kits. Oddly they listed this under Disney items instead of rockets.

When was the last time you had seen one of these?

I downloaded plans a while ago and should see if I can find them. Maybe this will be my next project. Jim Zs has the plans and Semroc has a parts list.

When was the last time you had seen one of these?

Black Hole Space Probe For me it was probably around 1980 when I lunched it and lost track of it. I never did find it either. I might have to scratch one up since this one is too rich for my cheap blood.

BT-50 Thrust Rings - What to use?

Have plenty from C and below but I haven't launched a D in probably 20 years.

BT-50 Thrust Rings - What to use?

Since I was a little impatient or anxious I made one from masking tape and covered it in epoxy but next time if I don't have any spent engines I'm going to wrap the card stock. Thanks guys!

    Plastic Fin Units

This might be worth a look. https://www.a2zhobbies.com/GENERIC-E2X-BULK-PACK-12-ROCKETS-p/est-1764.htm What size body tubes do you have?

BT-50 Thrust Rings - What to use?

Don't know if a Goblin with larger than a D is such a good idea in my area. Field sizes would be an issue.:(

BT-50 Thrust Rings - What to use?

The baffle I was going to make was like what was used in the old Estes Bandit kit with and extended engine holder tube, holes in the side of it and a solid bulkhead in the end. The tape idea made me think. How does wrapping some tape backwards around an engine to the proper thickness sound and...

BT-50 Thrust Rings - What to use?

I'm in the middle of building an Estes Goblin clone with a baffle and realized I don't have any thrust rings (engine blocks). What can I use instead? I don't have any spent D engines and could order some but was hoping to give this thing a test lunch later in the week.

    Sealing a balsa nose cone

I have a lacquer base wood sealer and was wondering how many coats I need to use on a balsa nose cone. I gave it a good dip but is that enough?

    Baby Bertha Fin Template

A while back I was looking for a fin template for the Estes Baby Bertha. I did finally get one from somebody and figured someone else might need it.

    Estes - Hercules (#1377) Gallery

Built this after having it for 20 years. I launched it once last summer loaded with Cs and almost lost it. Next time it is flown will be on a windless day and a streamer instead of a chute.

    Wind, How Much Too Much

OK, I feel better about calling it a day then.:) We still had some fun though and that's all that counts.;)

Estes - (Astron) Ranger (K-6 or #1206) Gallery

We christened this one last year and it has well over 20 flights on it. This was built from spare parts but is all stock design wise. Have more Bertha's and some Ranger's planed.

    Wind, How Much Too Much

Made a few lunches (6) today but the wind picked up a bit. I wanted to get out early and be on the field at 8:00 but didn't get there untill 10:00. Forcast was to be 5mph at 8am, 6mph at 9am, 7mph at 10am, 10mph at 11am and 13mph at 12 noon. With gusts 10mph was probably 15mph. I like to...

    Duplicolor Perfrect Match Cure Time?

If we were talking a car then after and hour cure time you would have to scuff the paint so the new has something to grab onto. I would just give it a light scuff the next day with a scotch pad.
