75mm CTI / AT forward seal disk compatibility

Thanks! that answers my question completely.

75mm CTI / AT forward seal disk compatibility

Sorry for the weird question but my rocketry stuff is a total wreck. I have an AT 75mm reload and the corresponding case and closures. However, I can only find one forward seal disk in my stash and I don't know if it's AT or goes with my CTI 75mm hardware. So, if it were for CTI is it...

Hi, my name is Kevin, and I'm a BABAR..

Ya Chuck, that was intentional. I think I had a big presence here a long time ago (at least in my mind). I certainly had a lot of unanswered DMs. Anyway, the only way to get through all the motors I've accumulated it is to fly them.

Hi, my name is Kevin, and I'm a BABAR..

Hi all. I took a little hiatus from rocketry and my presence from this website and I'm looking to get involved again. I haven't flown a rocket in over 4 years. I've kept my membership in Tripoli up to date but don't feel qualified at that level any more. Some of you might remember me from my...

Can you turn a pumpkin into a working rocket?

Sorry, no pictures from me, but here's an old thread with the ideas: https://www.rocketryforum.com/threads/stick-stabilization.58236/

Can you turn a pumpkin into a working rocket?

A few years ago I made a "pumknik". It was stick stabilized and looked a little like sputnik. Had a 29mm mount inside the pumpkin and used rear ejection. Flew great on Fs.

    OpenRocket Optimization

Hi, Simulation of descent - especially with streamers - is really inaccurate. OR automatically switches to a much bigger time step and utilizes some very general and inaccurate computations for Cd. Streamers are particularly troublesome because their performance depends on lots of things...

    OpenRocket Android 13.11 new-old release

Hi guys, I'll try to look at the code shortly.

OpenRocket... A few items for my wish list.

Mike, Odds are you installed the wrong version of Java. Make certain you have the correct "bit" version - 32, or 64. Kevin

OpenRocket... A few items for my wish list.

Eddie, I know its been a while but we are still working on Open Rocket. There's some nice new features being lined up, but unfortunately, I've been quite busy constructing and preparing for my L3. Kevin

Shear pins for heavy nose cone

Fred, Would love to do the math. Can you suggest how to get started? I'll just wing some things here and maybe you could point me in the right direction. Assume worst case, which would be rocket at apogee and nose down. Velocity at deployment = 0, acceleration at deployment is gravity =...

Shear pins for heavy nose cone

Jim, That was exactly the validation I needed. NC is foamed and shot pinned with rod. The fit is currently a little sloppy, but that's easy enough to fix with a little tape. Got 50' of apogee cord and I was going to do the taped loop trick. I'm feeling much better about 4 4-40 pins now...

Shear pins for heavy nose cone

Thanks everyone. Jim, any concerns with all that extra mass I put in there? 4x 4-40 is where I'm leaning right now. My payload sections are only 2ft, so I'm looking at 2.5g BP charges right now. Of course I can verify that with ground test. Kevin

Shear pins for heavy nose cone

Hi all, My L3 build has run into a question I'd like opinions on. The PML 7.5" fiberglass nose cone has been weighted to a total mass of 8.5lbs. I had wanted to use 4 shear pins but I'm quite a bit concerned that #2 will be too small. Any help is appreciated. Kevin

    ThrustCurve.org future directions

John, Can't tell you how much I use the web site. Further, everyone who uses OpenRocket indirectly benefits from it! My personal use is equally name search and complex search. I recently discovered the motor browser functionality. But the biggest item on my list is, download entire contents...

    ThrustCurve question.

And once past Mach, the drag really goes through the roof. Kevin

    ThrustCurve question.

In general, longer burns will put a rocket up higher. This is because the longer thrust will accelerate the rocket longer to a higher velocity resulting in longer coast times.

Wii, Wii U, X Box, or Play Station for a 7 Year Old?? Take me to school!

My favorite games - Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Bros (these are from Wii). I had wanted to play the Luigi game but it was Wii U. Most of the Lego games are a blast - except for Batman 1 and Lego Movie. Pirates of Caribbean, Hobbit, LoTR, Star Wars (any), Indiana Jones (any) are particularly fun...

Wii, Wii U, X Box, or Play Station for a 7 Year Old?? Take me to school!

Wii has lots of great games for that age - and since the used market for wii u has started heating up, the wii u might be a good idea. The original skylanders are wii titiles, but the newest one (and the lego $ sink) are Wii U only. My boys out grew the Wii at about age 9 & 11. We went with a...

    Fin fillets and tip-to-tip glassing

Hi all, What's the consensus on fin fillets and tip-to-tip glassing - which to do first? I'm thinking make fillets first so the glass doesn't have a sharp bend. This also makes the fillets more structural since they are bonding the fins to tube. Kevin
