    Sealing Decals

I would suggest a soft brush. I’ve never used a towel to apply it. It’s very viscous and runs easily. A couple of light coats is all it should need. Avoid brushing over it too many times while it’s wet. The stuff dries fairly quick but it’s self leveling and dries to a high gloss.

Leo Space Train available from Estes

I was thinking the same thing but the Quest Intrepid came to mind.

Dr. Zooch Return To Flight Space Shuttle build thread- #2

Found a couple of boosters in need of minor repair. No “brick” to be found. Might have to keep looking or build another shuttle.

    WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE ESTES MINI-BRUTE?

Only one I had was the Beta. Went full bore first flight and never saw it again.

    Sealing Decals

Use the Micro products mentioned above. Due to the age of the decals I’d coat them with the Micro liquid decal film prior and then the Micro set when applying. Use the Future floor polish to seal them on the rocket after applying. As K’Tesh implied, the floor polish is called something...

Dr. Zooch Return To Flight Space Shuttle build thread- #2

Did you give up on the upscale? Been fun going back reading/scanning the old posts.

    Estes Screaming Eagle build

Good point regarding the decals as mentioned in some of the earlier replies. I remember them being super thin and difficult to work with regardless of their age.

What was the deal with Estes Big Daddy nose cones?

I’ve flown mine with BP and AP several times with no issue. I always check to see if a cone feels too loose or tight when prepping and adjust accordingly. I don’t believe modding the cone is necessary but whatever floats your boat. Certainly doesn’t hurt.

    Micromeister News

He was very passionate and a wealth of knowledge when it came to this hobby. His participation here and on the field will be missed. Luckily, this forum has archived most of what he has shared over the years. Sorry for your loss.

    Dr Zooch anthology.

I beta tested many of Wes’ kits including the Soyuz. Fun guy to “work” and fly rockets with! First link was one I found in the archives that wasn’t on Banjos list. https://www.rocketryforum.com/threads/d-zooch-lifting-body.201/...

    Quest Tomahawk SLCM Build Started

I believe the forward "wings" affect stability more than the scoop does. Even so, I got some pretty good flights out of mine. As far as converting for glide recovery, I don't think it's possible. Wings are far too small to get any appreciable glide.

Solar Flare Takes a Strange Turn in Florida Skies

One More Step And Big Daddy Is Finished

1 vote here for using Future as your clear coat, decal sealer. Never a compatibility issue. I like the way it gives the rocket a nice shine.
