    Self Defense

In numerous incidents all over Chicago and Cook County our professional law enforcement officers have followed the FCCA every time, include when firearms have been fired and when the perp was shot on in one incident where the perp was shot and killed. So based on actual cases it appears to...

Again you are wrong... You really should read the FCCA before you make statements that are incorrect. I re-read the law regularly as I teach it. (430 ILCS 66/40) Sec. 40. Non-resident license applications. ... ... ... ...(e) Nothing in this Act shall prohibit a non-resident from...

Chicago does have concealed carry. You are mis-informed. The Firearm Concealed Carry Act which brought concealed carry to Illinois has preemption meaning that home rule districts (Chicago) cannot preempt State Law. BTW, I like your spelling of Chicago, but I don't want to get in trouble...

Preface: I am an NRA Instructor and a Illinois CCL instructor. My first thought was is your launch sight is a Gun Free Zone, You are making the likelihood higher that you might have an active shooter incident. But that likelihood is still small. Chances are I will not attend a gun free...

    GUNS & ROCKETS

.357 Magnum is generally for revolvers, semi's in .357 Magnum are very rare beasts. There is a common confusion between that cartridge and the .357 AutoMag, which is a rimless bottlenecked pistol cartridge.

    GUNS & ROCKETS

I own a number of handguns, if you are looking at Glocks I would also recommend you take a look at the Smith & Wesson M&P line, they are a better value in my opinion. I own a Glock 19 and a M&P, I will likely get another M&P. Also I would recommend getting something in a common chambering...

    GUNS & ROCKETS

The Ruger as mentioned is a good starter, I have nothing against it. Also you might want to look at a .22LR revolver, 4-6" barrel, simple straight forward. Most .22 LR pistols are great learning guns as they have low recoil and the ammo is relatively inexpensive. And there are some...

I have all the equipment from when I was running my welding and fabrication biz. I do realized that having an engine lathe, mill and various machining accessories is not normal for most hobbyists. I have it all so I will use it. Actually I bet I have fewer hours in it than building the router...

Rich, I like the jig. How do you keep the CR from moving in the jig?

Look at my previous posts, #29-31. I showed how I did it. I used my Bridgeport and rotary table. That made it easy, without the mill and rotary table it would be more challenging.

Got a little time tonight to get some assembly work done on the rocket. Cutting the dados (for lack of a better term) in the centering rings went well. ~0.080" deep at 120° respective to each other. So first step tonight was to use some 5 minute epoxy to assemble the aft centering ring...

Not much has been done on the build, spring time and the farm is keeping my running hard. Had to cut down two really nice, well there were nice Ash trees. Died due to the Emerald Ash Borer. But I did get around to purchasing the Eggtimer products. Quark, Quantum and the WiFi Switch. 3...

Last set for now... Sorry I missed a few shot but I kept getting interrupted. But you will get the gist. I used a 1/4" router bit in the milled and set it at 2700 rpm. I cut 3 grooves 120° apart easy peasy with the rotary table. The plan is to use the CR's at my fixture for holding the...

Fourth set. Setting up the mill, indicating the rotary table so it is aligned with the spindle. I really only need the y axis aligned but doting both the x and y is easy with the Blake Indicator. Next is turning the mandrel that will be needed. Had to shoot a pic of a nice spring day!
