    Der Red Max is Back

I just noticed that Estes has brought back the Der Red Max on their website. I've been away for a few months, maybe this was discussed before, but it didn't come up in a search. Nice to see them really listening to us. It is one of the "most requested" rockets according to their website...

    Semroc Centuri Taurus

Just built my new Taurus to replace the one lost many many years ago. Anyone considered popping three mini motors in the 13mm pods and flown it as a cluster? Plenty of room for extra nose weight up there since the "payload" section is basically useless.

    Body Tube size?

Anyone know what the BT-200 is for the Estes Space ship one? It looks close to the BT-70. I was thinking of kit-bashing this into a dual motor cluster Jayhawk. The tailcone looks to be perfect for that. Anyone know off hand if the BT-200 is available from any of the vendors in 18" length?

    Non Estes kit opinions

I just built my first Semroc Kits: SST Shuttle, Texas Firefly, and the freebie Lil' Ivan. I like getting a free one. First, Great kits. The laser balsa is a Plus. Putting the staging vents in the centering rings was a great idea. This eliminates the burning of the airframe and...

    Semroc Taurus

Oooh, I hope it's the Centuri Taurus. That was a great one. I just placed my first Semroc order today. Looking forward to some centuri memories. I hope the Jayhawk (or the Magnum-D) is coming soon too. Maybe the fighter fleet? The future will be bright. :)

    Rocketry in Germany

I am in Dresden and holed to find some rocket-related hobby stuff. Nothing. Kinda surprised me. I also read somewhere that model rocketry was a big thing in the DDR (East Germany) but my colleagues here don't know anything about it. They do like their trains though.

    Quest 18mm D motors

This may have already been covered, I couldn't find anything using the search, but does anyone have any poop on the upcoming quest 18mm D motors? Their website shows something that looks kind of like what may actually be AP instead of BP. Are they also German or maybe relabeled Aerotech...

Looks Like Spaceship One was successful!

Just watched the landing on CNN. It appears that Burt Rutan's team did it.

    Hobby Lobby

This Memorial day weekend we went to Austin TX to visit the in-laws. Just so happens I planned the trip to coincide with NSL 2004. I finally went into a Hobby Lobby today. Got an outlander for $10.99. Now if they only opened up some stores in Arizona. Of course upon returning to my...

NSL and the flood In Hearne TX

I just heard from my in-laws in Austin that there was a Flood in Hearne Texas, the site of this year's NSL. An earthen Dam gave way and drained a lake into the town. I am going there anyway, but has anybody heard if it is cancelled, moved again, all clear? The NSL and NAR websited have no...

    Video Rocketry

I got a few requests from another thread (can't remember which one) for me to post one of my onboard rocket videos. I did this on the cheap with a LOC Lil nuke. I replaced the body tube above the fincan with PML Quantum tube. The camera is an Intel Play Digital Movie Creator tht was taken out...
