I did a design once staging an N4800--N4800--K250 (All in all, barely, barely more than a full O; 100.34% O, or a 0.17% P), and using lots of really long ignition delays on the various stages (14 sec delay on the second stage, 23 second on the third), got it to simulate out to nearly 337,000...

My team's competing again (Raleigh Charter High School) Haven't yet sent in the application (just got all the parent permission forms accounted for), but as of two weeks ago, we've made ~6-7 flights with our design.

From my experience, the 20" with a spill hole works just fine for most field conditions. I flew mine a few times in a semi-hard dirt field, and it has not sustained any damage to the leg structure in its 5-6 flights (almost always stuck the landing). The shock absorbers also look like they...

I'm reserving judgment until I see an episode. From the commercials, it looked like it had a little of both... I think it'll be very hard to top Mythbusters (or just as hard to be worse than Smash Lab???).

Aeronautical/Astronautical under Aerospace? It's usually just aerospace, but there are a few differences where programs offer specific divisions between the two (Aeronautical->more focus on aircraft, aerodynamics, atmosphere-bound craft; Astronautical->spacecraft systems, structures, etc).

The above report now indicates that they have found human remains among the wreckage, enough to provide DNA for identification. Initially it had read that there were none present.
