    Happy Birthday Ken Parker :-)

I've had a great day - a lot of relaxing, and, yes, jflis, a lot of building. A prototype kit provided to me by one of the vendors here on the forum. Don't know if I'm at liberty to talk about it yet, but I'm sure I'll get to post something later on. A very exciting, very innovative kit...

    RC Rocket Gliders

Our Centurian is a relatively new addition to our rocket glider fleet. We have 2 D11 flights on it and 4 F12 flights. So far, there is not a sign of any "clag" on the elevator from the F12's. If you carefully followed the build instructions, and you make sure the CG is properly located, you...

And a final pic of the Phoenix, doing what it does best - cruzin' the skies.

    RC Rocket Gliders

Here she is, not far off the pad. This flight was on Kent's favorite motor, a G12. Lovely 8 second burn.

Here is our Aerotech Phoenix on the pad, almost ready to go.

    RC Rocket Gliders

And here is a final pic of the Centurian close to apogee on the climb out.

    RC Rocket Gliders

Here is the Centurian further up. Kent has touched up elevator to put it into a more vertical climb attitude.

    RC Rocket Gliders

We actually had a great night flying RC rocket gliders. Here is our Estes Centurian on an F12 BlackJack motor not far off the pad.

    RC Rocket Gliders

And, here it is moments after ignition. Now, believe it or don't, the damage was only minor. I've already figured out how I am going to reconfigure it for the next experiment. My son is trying to get me to leave it configured the way it is. He thinks this flight was about the coolest thing...

    RC Rocket Gliders

My son thought that I should post these pics on the forum. This first pic is an experiment of mine of a converted electric foamie RC plane. Here it is on the pad all ready to go.

    Happy Birthday Mr. Ken Parker

Thanks, everyone (except for Phil, Carl, and Kermie). I did have a great day. Worked on rocket gliders, just about one of my favorite things to do. If the darn wind hadn't been so bad, I would have launched a few, but it just wasn't worth the risk. Oh well, maybe this weekend. My son...

    Happy Birthday Mr. Ken Parker

Thanks, Randy. It's going great. Wanted to go to Battleboro today, but got home too late last night plus the weather isn't exactly what I wanted for flying rocket gliders. All in all, it's still a good day. At least I get to work on rockets.

    Whitakers in now Battleboro

Reed - I have to be out of town on Friday 6/23 and Saturday 6/24, but my son Kent and I are going to *try* to make it over on Sunday 6/25. We hope to fly some radio controlled rocket gliders. I also have a new digital camera to play with - a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT. 8 megapixel. By the...

    4th Annual TRF Reunion - April 22-23, 2006 - Whitakers, NC

Has it been almost 4 years already? Must be, because..... The 4th annual TRF reunion will be held at Whitakers, NC on the weekend of April 22nd and 23rd, 2006. While the TRF admins/mods attendance list is not set in stone at this point, we’re pretty sure that the following TRF staff will...

    AT Cheetah repair

Reed - I'll let someone else post help on the repairs, but there are a couple of things you could do to help prevent similar damage in the future. First of all, if you used all of the black powder that was provided in the reload kit, it was probably too much for a small airframe like the...

OOP - Estes Pheonix - mod help :(

ooops.... thanks BN. Missed that part. Whenever I see the word Phoenix, my brain automatically goes to the Aerotech RCRG.

OOP - Estes Pheonix - mod help :(

ummmm.... If I may ask.... why are you modifying it to use this 24mm/29mm dual stage power system? Aerotech has reintroduced the 32mm RMS motor and reloads for which the Phoenix was designed. As an owner and flyer of a Phoenix, I can attest to the fact that the 32mm RMS system works great...

    Serenity

My son and I just got back from a matinee of Serenity. I had just finished reading the book on a business trip to NJ this week, so it was interesting to be able to contrast the two. The book was written from the screenplay, but it has a lot more detail, a lot more background and history, and...
