    4th Annual TRF Reunion - April 22-23, 2006 - Whitakers, NC

I'm excited about going. I'm planning on driving over on Friday afternoon. We'll be having dinner on Friday night but I don't know the details. I think Ken was following up on this but I haven't talked to him in a while. It will probably be at Mama's Pizza again and probably around 7:30 or...

What not to do - was *Ellis Mountain H275- major failure*

I think the point has been well made that the problem is probably due to user error. Quite a few plausible explanations have been given. I see no other point in continuing to beat this dead horse and the personal attacks have been pulled. Thread renamed and closed.

    Why HTPB???

The only types of binders I've used in my EX motors have been PBAN and HTPB. Those are the two most common types outside of the sugar based motors. The main reason that most people choose HTPB over PBAN is the curing time and ease of use. PBAN requires a curing oven and nearly a week to...

    Flame

I just wanted to commend everyone posting in this thread. Anytime we get a thread which mentions any chemicals or talks about EX, the moderators begin wondering how long it will be before someone decides to cross the line and violate the guidelines. We've been watching this thread and all of...

    homebulit engines

Unfortunately, this is a completely naive' point of view. If you think that acquiring materials requires that you be 18 years old, you haven't had much experience with human ingenuity. On a different note, I tend to somewhat agree with Jeff. You're probably correct that we could word things...

    Modified motors

I am by no means a lawyer but, my personal opinion considers the permanency of the modification. In your example, I would consider welding a permanent modification and therefore would make the casing EX from that point forward. Epoxying something onto the case could/should be able to be...

    Which propellant is better?

The answer to your question is very subjective. Both have their pros and cons. Personally, I like AP. My preference is mainly from the ease of use perspective because I've heard that the AN has problems with moisture absorption over time.

    3rd Annual TRF Reunion - April 23rd and 24th

I don't think anyone is making any badges. If you want a badge, you should probably print out the one that was linked in this thread earlier.

    3rd Annual TRF Reunion - April 23rd and 24th

We will definately be getting together for dinner on Saturday night but we don't have any prearranged plans yet. If you won't be able to make it to the field on Saturday to find out the location, you can always give me a call on my cell phone. I'll PM you my number.

    3rd Annual TRF Reunion - April 23rd and 24th

I believe the launch waiver starts at 10:00am (could be 11:00) but everyone usually starts getting there between 9:00-10:00am to setup there own prep areas.
