I always love seeing cool designs like these and would definitely be interested in getting one - so you know the customer base is here. I would paint mine with a blue stripe (which signifies a training round and would make it much safer if I displayed it in my office at work.)

Awesome work, I have one of these still in my build stash. I plan to do a motor upgrade as well. The I plan to paint it in an "ALIEN" motif.

One thing to remember if you are launching an older rocket, you should replace elastic shock cords every 5-7 years (assuming you have a rocket that survives that long.) They tend to deteriorate over time.

Is there a reference somewhere listing how much battery power is required for an igniter to start a rocket motor? The reason being that I wish to construct my own launcher and want it to have adequate power, but not vaporize the rocket when I push the button. LOL I plan on using it to ignite...

Did you cover them with any type of clear coat? Depending on how they are bonded, and the age of the rocket, you may end up doing some damage. Is the paint job worth it? This may be an opportunity to refinish the whole rocket. Good luck and be sure to let us know how it goes, take pix!

When I need white on a decal, sometimes I'll just print it clear and paint white behind the decal.

I build a lot of custom clones, so I bought a bulk pack of decal paper off of ebay. It's cheap stuff, but seems to work well for my purposes. The seller was "the_world_of_papers". Let me know if you can't find them.

OK, this is something I just thought of, and will test it out following my next decal printing session... OK... picture this.... I think part of the problem is that the paper is flat and your are trying to have it adhere to a curved surface. What if... after clear coating the decal sheet, you...

I've actually scanned self-adhesive decals and re-printed them on waterslide decal paper. I am NOT a fan of self-adhesive decals.
