I am a lifetime member after contributing $100 so why am I besieged by adverts

Anyway, I have decided to leave the forum, I'll kiss goodbye to my $100. I am very sad to do so as there are many lovely and knowledgeable people on here, but for me it is a matter of principle. If anyone replies to this thread I won't be reading it. This is my final post.

I am a lifetime member after contributing $100 so why am I besieged by adverts

Exactly, I am hugely disappointed in the way this site is run, I know for a fact that it costs about $10 a month to run a forum as I run several myself, this attempt to moniterize the forum can only lead to the death of it. (which I sincerely hope doesn't happen)

    Level 2?

Here's a great resource for testing your knowledge, I used it myself. https://www.ukrocketry.com/page5.html

Grats, I'm assuming you are now L1

MAP level 2 - payload option

I have a feeling that only Ostrich eggs can be used. Seriously though, it's just a raw chicken egg from any source.

Nice looking rocket, great finish and I love those Klima motors

    Black Powder

If by 'magic' my rocket disappears never to be found (as so many have) you'll know why.

    Black Powder

Just ordered 10 packs of this: https://www.illusioncraft.co.uk/flash-wool/ Amazing, no documentation needed, I'm really looking forward to trying this out in my nearest car park (for safety reasons) :)

    Black Powder

Hi Thomas, Thanks for this info, I'm definitely going to give it a try as reading up on it on wikipedia it says it produces 6 times the gas of black powder, and the gas is what we want at the end of the day. In addition there is less heat which is something we don't want...

    Black Powder

You can buy black powder at must gun shops in the UK. Personally I don't bother as there is more than enough in a typical motor ejection charge to fire both main and apogee in a smaller rocket. The legalities of it though are a bit strange to say the least. You can keep bp at home as part of a...

    Model Achievement Programme

More great news about the Model Achievement Programme. We’ve changed the rules so that if you’re under 16 you don’t have to be a member of UKRA to take part.

    Level 1 Build: LOC Shadowhawk

You can do the whole thing electronically, we'll raise a paypal invoice for you. As far as the nosecone goes I have a PML D-Region Tomahawk that I have launched countless times on H and I motors with single deploy motor ejection and the av bay in place. To keep the nosecone on I put masking...

    Big EARS and UKRA Membership

It has come to my attention that we are getting a lot of last minute applications for UKRA/BMFA membership as Big EARS rapidly approaches. To ensure that as many people as possible get their membership cards in time for the event, I would like to ensure that all applications received and paid...

    Level 1 Build: LOC Shadowhawk

I would also advise rail buttons. 1/4" is definitely large enough for vent holes I normally go for a maximum of 5mm but in your case I think 3mm is fine. Looking forward to the seeing the build progress.

    Black Knights April Launch

We're not 100% sure, but we think it might have been a cracked grain that over pressurised the motor. Strange thing was that the case appeared OK. The through the wall fins were even blown off the rocket, the quantum tube was melted, there were quite a few bits to pick up.

    Model Achievement Programme

We have changed Level 1 so you have to build the rocket which fits in nicely with Pete's workshops. I have posted the relevant page here: W have also changed it so that you get a card per level, created a new certificate and various other bits and pieces. The sticker goes on the washed...

    Model Achievement Programme

Just to let you know that Pete and I have tweaked the model Achievement Programme to make it compatible with Pete's Rocketry Workshop which he will be running up and down the country. I have attached it here for those that are interested.
