    Rocketry in Sweden?

Does anybody here participate in rocketry in Sweden? I've looked online but all the information is pretty dated. I don't even know if one can buy Estes motors in Scandinavia. I may be moving to Stockholm for some time, and would like to participate in some capacity. I'm L3 certified in the...

Weird Dark Halo in Photos around flame

I was shooting in JPG, thanks for all of the good feedback though! Is there a good free program to use to work with the RAW files on windows? I'll check out the D-lighting too. Such a great forum I'm always so impressed by the help!

Weird Dark Halo in Photos around flame

I bought a Nikon D3100 a year or so ago and have had an issue I don't remember with other cameras. On really bright flames, I get a darkened region of sky in the area immediately surrounding the flame. Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a solution through changing the settings or...

    M2150 vs M2045

I loved the M2045, it was a really cool motor. These photos of my first L3 attempt were taken at Fire in the Sky by Jim Wilkerson. I'm definitely going to be flying the M2150 next time though.

    pink motor shots

CTI M1675 in a 128" tall rocket I totally agree about under-exposing. Makes all the difference. I wish I had underexposed mine a bit more because the color is still off a bit from real life.

Northwest Xtreme Rocket Show (NXRS) 2016

My Level 3 flight on a CTI M1675 Pink. Looks pretty blue in the pictures, but seemed more pinkish in an iphone video and in real life. Just over 8,000 ft. (The picture of us carrying it is from FITS but wanted to give scale)

Dr Rocket 54/1706 case only, crappy threads $5

Tentatively Sold: Not sure how to describe this. It's a 54/1706 case only that looks pretty good except that the threads are hard to use. It's hard to get the closure started and in the middle of tightening you have to twist harder than normal. Looks like there's an area on one edge where...

    Wobbly Rocket Assembly

Thanks, makes sense. I think the couplers are a bit small because the #4 shear pins go into a #4 tapped hole, and the plastic rivets use the appropriately sized hole. I'll add a ring of tape before I do the ground test today to get the wobble out. Sincerely, Brian

    Wobbly Rocket Assembly

Not sure how to describe this, but my 6" diameter 11' long FG rocket, which uses shear pins and rivets to hold the 4 pieces together (including NC) is a bit wobbly when it's all assembled. When I hold it vertical, if I lean it one way or another, I can feel a bit of a wobble as the pieces settle...

Iphone navigation app to retrieve rocket

I have a BRB 70cm GPS connected to an android tablet with APRSDroid via Moblinkd TNC. I would like to type the coordinates from APRSDroid into my Iphone and have it guide me to my rocket using the phone's built in GPS. I think APRSDroid gives decimal degrees. Has anyone found an Iphone app...

    Fiberglass tubes as motor mounts

Just to clarify, the rockets are all fiberglass, I just wasn't sure if it was necessary to be careful in selecting heat-tolerant fiberglass tubes for motor mounts or if all of the Madcow/Rocketry Warehouse tubing is sufficiently heat tolerant. My tubes didn't specify motor mount use and I don't...
