    Differing Altimeters…

I usually wire in LEDs to the piezos. One red and one green that way I know they’re both doing what they’re supposed to be doing.

    Differing Altimeters…

Yep! This is what I've done with all my dual deploy flights.

    Differing Altimeters…

I've wondered about this for a long while and just never bothered to ask. I'm starting the planning/designing of my L3 rocket and am putting together a components list. When I got to altimeters, I thought I had better get this question answered, just to make sure! I appreciate you taking time to...

    Differing Altimeters…

I’ve noticed in numerous build threads, that people pick very different deployment altimeters for their redundant backups. I’m wondering why? If this has been well documented in other threads, I would appreciate being pointed to them. Thanks!

What did you do rocket wise today?

Applied vinyl graphics to my latest build. And, began praying that the meteorologists are mistaken about how strong the wind will be this Saturday. I’m ready to light this candle!

What did you do rocket wise today?

I updated our sections name, contact info, logo, website address, and general information with NAR. I also changed the same information on our Facebook group, and our GroupMe chat. Not as glamorous as building a rocket, but these things needed to get done... Oh, and I drove past the Oklahoma...

    Launch Site Difficulties...

Wow!!! That's an interesting find! Thank you for thinking of searching for this. I may reach out to him and see if he's willing to lend us a hand with the OKC parks department. :) 👍

What did you do rocket wise today?

I finished up the build portion of my 38mm minimum diameter all carbon fiber scratch build. One of the biggest challenges for me was fitting in dual redundant S2 LiPos, switches and altimeters. We have a launch on Feb. 11th (2023) and I'm hoping to get all the ground testing, graphics, and clear...

    Launch Site Difficulties...

Good to know, Sooner Boomer! Yes, it's about the same distance. As I mentioned in the PM I sent you, we're not always able to keep to our schedule due to the land owners availability. I don't think any of us have flown as a group since Tulsa Rocketry's High Frontier launch in Pawhuska back in...

    Launch Site Difficulties...

Hello, Tommie D! Yes. I've looked at the fairgrounds on Google Earth. When I looked at the website for the OK State Fairgrounds, to try to find out who to talk to, I came across their fee schedule for use of the area. In short, we can't afford it. Perhaps they would let us use the site without a...

    Launch Site Difficulties...

Hello, Sooner Boomer, I've reached out to you before. When do you fly at Sayer, is it only on Sundays? Where can I find your launch schedule. If you don't mind, I'd like to put your launches on our (OKCRocketry.com) website as a resource. Please, and thank you!

Thank you to everyone who chimed in with support, advice, and the offer of a shoulder to cry upon. I really appreciate it!

    Launch Site Difficulties...

No, not that I know of. Many of these groups used to fly with us, seeing as how we have all of the safety and ground equipment needed. Perhaps they’re still flying but just not publicizing it.

If (more like when) I get weepy, I know who to turn to, Astronwolf. Thanks!

    Launch Site Difficulties...

There is an AMA club that flys adjacent to a local lake. Their airstrip is surrounded by a dense thicket of trees. Even if they allowed us to launch from their site I’m afraid it would gobble up numberous rockets. But it's a good suggestion and I'm certain there are other AMA airstrips in the...

Thank you for this suggestion! I feel like the definitions of the particular models is and important distinction to be made.

    Launch Site Difficulties...

My local NAR club (PARC 710) out of Oklahoma City is having a LOT of trouble finding a local site for low-mid power launches. We’re actively exploring several options including privately owned agricultural property and public spaces. The challenge with getting permission for private property is...

Open Rocket - Add a motor to database

I just wanted to jump in here and say thank you for all the good information. I too had been struggling with adding new motors to OR. The posts from neil_w were especially helpful. Again, thank you!

What did you do rocket wise today?

This is my first post on The Rocketry Forum. I dusted off my Estes Leviathan, “Blue Blazes” and began the repair of a fin that broke on landing 4 years ago on its maiden flight. You gotta love epoxy putty!
