    Any other musicians out there?

amazing how many rocketeers are also musicians. Not a surprise I guess as both are incredible ways to express creativity. RandyM - I'm like you, started playing bass guitar at 15. Wound up playing bass in bar bands in NW Iowa and SW minnesota for over 25 years. My first bass was a 1969 Fender...

    V2 Variation

"Now I have to come up with a paint scheme for it. It's going to be hard to do better than you though." naw - that TWA was easy, white Krylon and some decals. now I DO remember that that camoflage V2 was a pain-in-the-A&% to mask. I can't beleive its been almost 2 years since I built...

    V2 Variation

my apologies - its been awhile and I'm gettin old I guess This TWA V2 variation did not fly on a D12-3, it flew on 3x C6-3 engines. The Camoflage V2 shown in the group picture flew on a D12-3. :o

    V2 Variation

"How high did it get on the D12's and did you get any launch pics?" I'm guessing 350-400' sorry no pics. I have been taking less pictures. The camera seems to get in the way of the 'experience'. I get so caught up in trying to get the picture that I miss the flight. I need to get a...

Scott Fintel Does it Again Part 2

Scott launched his Aestus Project on Saturday Nov 3rd just south of my home in NW Iowa. It was much windier than had been forecast, so much so that some thought had been given to canceling. Scott had an FAA waiver to fly between 1:30pm and 2:30pm and there were quite a few spectators. Some...

Hi Gang, I've been away from TRF for awhile. Life gets busy ya know and the rockets had to take a back seat to family and job for bit. I'm about to embark on a new phase of rocketry for me thanks to Scott Fintel who I met last fall just by chance...

    Cosmodrome Vostok

the booster conduit is 155 degrees from the centerline of the fin. I believe this would confirm that the position indicated in the Cosmodrome instructions is correct since the the seam of the booster shroud should be nearly 180 degrees from the fin. Hope that makes sense. Steve

    Cosmodrome Vostok

thanks sandman - better late than never!!:D Aaron - I am pretty sure the kit instructions have it right. Let me check my instructions against the RoW book I have and see if I can tell for sure

    Cosmodrome Vostok

I did not use the booster conduits (trying to lighten up the rear end as much as possiuble) and because they are basically hidden. a scale purist would certainly want to add them but I am by no means a scale purist. Steve
