SpaceX Falcon 9 historic landing thread (1st landing attempt & most recent missions)

Here is an interesting article I ran across that explains what will happen to the plastics, leather and paint on the roadster. https://www.livescience.com/61680-will-spacex-roadster-survive-in-space.html Long story short, the car will be trashed within a year.

SpaceX Falcon 9 historic landing thread (1st landing attempt & most recent missions)

I wonder how well the plastics, leather and paint will hold up over time with direct exposure to the sun?

Per Twitter... Team at the Cape completed additional propellant loading tests today. Extreme weather slowed operations but Falcon 9 and the Zuma spacecraft are healthy and go for launch—now targeting January 7 from Pad 40 in Florida.

I asked the same thing just after that landing. My guess is that SpaceX is not releasing it to the public since it was not a perfect landing.

Building the Estes Little Joe II: Tips, Tricks, and Modifications

Thanks James. This is the route I'm taking with my build as well. You are right. The black undercoat does appear to give the metallic layer more depth.

Well I'm an idiot. Somehow I missed post #50 where the black undercoat was applied to the wrap as well.

You don't mention it but did you also spray the black over the corrugated wrap as well? I'm curious as to how the black undercoat makes the aluminum look more realistic?

New Falcon 9 and Fairing kit from SpaceX?

I've ordered the grid fins and landing legs from https://boyceaerospacehobbies.com/. I have not installed them yet but once I do I'll post a photo of the finished results. I built my Falcon 9 several months ago so I'll have to gently pull off the stick on landing legs.
