    Krylon Spray Paint Problem

i disagree. I have no issue with Rustoleum. If you see my Sky shark that i painted in a bee pattern, i used Rustoleum and the finish came out amazing, i didn't even need to prime and sand the spirals away.

I'm starting my L1 cert. research

https://www.apogeerockets.com/Rocket-Kits/Skill-Level-3-Model-Rocket-Kits/Zephyr This kit looks amazing and has a high rating in reviews. I'm going to do this one for my level 1 cert!

Guess what I found! (vintage Estes D.A.R.T. scratch rebuild)

i would have just dremel sanded off the old fin joints, and reglued new fins to the old one and preserve the original as much as possible. Unless there was motor mount damage then that's a different story. You probably used white glue i'm assuming in 1989.

    D12-3

Hobby Lobby sucks, sadly everything is online now man. Hobby Lobby stopped carrying the estes 29mm and e motors and even the estes pro series composite motors.

How many rockets does everyone have in their collection??

30 total. 3 in sick bay. A few mid power rockets, mostly just low power. I don't have a lot of money and space to build big stuff.

    Krylon Spray Paint Problem

i don't use Krylon, I use Rustoleum. It's a different formula and cures more like rubber in the early stages. I prefer Rustoleum

    Estes Majestic

This is my flight of my Majestic on an estes E12-4. I would estimate about 600 feet maybe more. But a good slow traceable lift off.

    Slow and Stable?

yep, Warlocs, minimaggs, sumo's, Gizmos etc. I love those kinds of rockets.

    Star Wars Proton Torpedo

that difference in fin shape is too much for me and bugs my ocd. I couldn't fully believe and take it as a proton torpedo clone. I could tolerate the fins being trapezoidal but a little off size than the wrong shape.

    Estes Citation Patriot

i love this rocket so much! I always thought that 18mm motors were just too wimpy for a rocket with this much drag and size. Bashing it to a 24mm motor mount seems like a great idea.

Quickest way to attach a fin or kill a boy scout

Elmers white glue is not a glue i recommend personally for rockets. It's trash and does not bond the fin strong enough to the airframe. Wood glue however, is perfect. I use CA to attach fins to rockets that are very small and lightweight, so that they won't really break a fin. Because the...

    Spaceship One and Corporal launches

lol, i've done that. I also forgot to put a parachute in once too lol. I keep my parachutes on swivels and seperate from all my rockets so i can pick the chute i want for each rocket each flight. Luckily the rocket didn't break anything but it was embarrassing lol

    Estes Der Red Max Discontinued

I just completed the 1:100 Estes Saturn V limited edition and it looks SPECTACULAR

Do you have any videos of them flying well on a 24mm? I'd love to see that and i may buy one of these

    Estes Sky Warrior

beautiful job on the finish. Also the struts should not break if you are using the proper sized chute for this rocket and also flying in good weather conditions getting the best deployment. Here's mine. Mine was missing the decals and the rings on the struts so i did a custom bumble bee style...

    Finished up my Goblin

Oh cool you did the green color scheme. The green goblin!. Here's mine. I'm not super good at finishes though lol so a lot of my rockets are flight before beauty.

What type of glue would you use?

For plastic fin units like that, i use CA, My favorite is Gorilla Glue CA. Now if the rocket is a paper and cardboard kit. I use wood glue for motor mounts and i reinforce the aft end centering ring with CA. I sometimes get lazy and use CA on fins but that isn't always a good idea since it...
