    Tango Papa Decals

Carl, I concur. Tango Papa made me some decals in the past and there were great. I am glad to hear that the vinyl decals are of the same quality. I built a upscale Der Big Red Max (Estes made a slightly longer version of the the famous rocket) and the water slide decals turned out really...

    Need a Good Label Maker

You may want to try Tango Papa. If I remember correctly not too long ago Tom had posted that he has access to vinyl decals now. Tom did some upscale Der Red Max decals for me. I was in a rush for NARAM-43 and he had them to me in about one week. Tony

Motor Tubes - How Short is too Short?

Thanks for the info. I guess I will decide after I cut out my fins and make a final determination then so that I get my centering rings to butt up against the fins.

OK I give in- I need a kit...

I did have a fin snap off last winter. It crashed into a frozen corn stalk. It was well below freezing and I had some igniter problems. It took about 30 - 45 minutes to get the thing to launch. At ejection the streamer came out but it descended VERY quickly. Upon inspection it looked...

Motor Tubes - How Short is too Short?

I am building an upscale Solar Warrior. The body tube is going to be 34" long and I will be using TTW fins. Here is the situation-I have an 19" piece of 29mm motor tube. I am thinking about cutting it in half for two 9.5" motor tubes. (I have another body tube for another rocket and I am...

OK I give in- I need a kit...

Ask 10 different rocketeers about a good mid-power rocket you will probably get 10 different answers. My first mid-power was an Aerotech HV Arcas but I think my favorite kits tend to be LOC/Precision. My Aura is work-horse. I built it stock about 8 years ago and it is still flying today...

    Plans for soyuz Rocket?

I do not have a plan for a kit. I have always found that Peter Alway has good data for scale building. He has a number of good sources. https://members.aol.com/satrnpress/saturn.htm Good luck. Keep us posted on your progress.

Does it take Nerds to build model rockets?

In a colloquial use of the word, I guess "geek" may work. I prefer "fanatic" like the guys who on Monday morning can give you every statistic from the football games the previous day. Reviewing our dialog says it all. For the record, Dan Webster (1988 - pre-www) says that a "nerd" is an...

    Compatable Paints

After 5 years I finally managed to loosen a fin on my LOC Aura. (On a D12-3 flight - go figure). I decided to break off the fin as well as another that I always fell was glued a little to high on the body tube to make it stand straight. I sanded them down a little and I have them glued back...

    HPR Alternative...Hypertek!

I have also been giving it serious thought. One nice thing that I have been hearing is that the grains can be used twice.

    The new "improved?" Estes E

I have flown three E9-6's. I got them at NARAM. Estes Pheonix - Wind cocked LOC Aura - Great flight (little wind) Light weight scratch built thing (3 fins and a nose cone) - good I think to get these things to work is have a simple stable design. I will buy more. Hope to find a...

    Magnum Rockets

I noticed on ROL Missle-aneous that Ross is trying to sell Magnum Rockets. The notice mentioned manufactures back stabbing. I hope who ever purchases the company is as helpful as Ross.

    HPR Alternative...Hypertek!

I saw a couple of hypertek launches. They were very impressive. Before I venture down that path I need to get some experience with dual deployment.

    Shift in CP

Thanks for offering assistance. I am modifying an Estes Beta Launch Vehicle. It has a BT-60. The nose cone for the rocket is not typical and has a transition. I entered the data into VCP but because of the odd nose cone shape I am not sure if it is accurate. I have attached a picture from...

    Shift in CP

I am building a kit and modifying it be to be a 3 cluster. As a result of design I plan to change the rocket from a 4 fin design to a 3 fin. Is there any easy way or rule of thumb for estimating a shift in CP?

    Building has arrived Early

YA HOOO! Now that waivers are being activated looks like we get at least (hopefully) one more month of launches in NE Ohio. Some of the projects are going to hit the shelf. I am 3/4 done with the Cyclotron kit. Hopefully, I can will be able to try for cert 1 before Halloween. But I do not...

Upscaling old Estes/Centuri kits to mid-power

Did not really notice. That seems like months ago. That day along felt like it took forever.

    Upscale Bullpup plans?

There are a couple up scale kits that I have seen but did not build so you may want to check EMRR. Public Missles has Bullpup that flies on G through I and Public Enemy Rockets have one that will fly on G and H's.

    Ignitors

I have been looking at purchasing some QuickBurst ignitors. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with them. I have seen them on ROL and ebay a bit. Thanks
