Are you going to have adjustable nose weight? If so, what are your plans?

How are you handling nose weight? Could you snap a pic of it when it's completed?

I see, hopefully you can get it in there, my 80" is just too big :mad:

So far the tightest I have been able to fold it is just a tad too big to fit. I'm thinking about switching to a 48" upper airframe to allow more room and of course a bigger rocket. Any thing I should watch out for doing so?

Thanks for the useful info and pdfs! I have an XL bag but that's rated for >5" and I tried to back it as tightly possible but it's just two big. I'll have to try the cert 3 fold and see if I can get it to work.

I'm building the same rocket! What parachute did/are you getting for it? I got a 80" angel chute and I can't get it to fit into the upper airframe.

For shroud lines? It has four.

Whew that is kinda out of the budget since I bought the 80" chute. I do have a deployment bag, but I bought it a couple years ago and I don't remember the size and I'm honestly unsure how to pack it and deploy it.

Hello there, I have finally finished my build of the Madcow Frenzy XL (:cool:) I ordered an 80" Angel chute and I am a littler perplex on how to fit the darn thing in there. Now I'll admin, I have never been skilled with folding and packing chutes and usually result to using a "burrito"...

What kind of igniters did you get and where did you get them from?

Hope you at least attach an 808 camera to the outside for a nice "ride-along" of your cert flight :)

Openrocket for me allows to "edit" components, but it doesn't change the rocket. For example, I'll had 9000 pounds of nose weight, yet the rocket's flight doesn't change. It just started happening a couple months ago, so I'll have to see if I can find the issue now that I know I'm not alone.

For your external filets on the fins, are you going to use chopped carbon mixed in with the epoxy?

Just curious, what grit of sandpaper do you use to sand?

The two plywood CR's are mainly there just to do the fin lock like pictured above. Since the VMax has such a powerful liftoff thrust, I wanted to overbuild a little and have 2 more G10 CR's just to help hold everything together...just in case.

It was about 6-7 inches longer, I've always been afraid that there would be an issue with the shock cord, the longer tube was only about $20 and the G12 is only a tid bit heavier than the short G10 tube amazingly enough.

Thanks for the input! I've never had electronics do both the drogue and main ejection before, so that'll be a new experience for me. I also did think that 17 seconds was very long for it to coast to apogee, although the momentum from the very fast acceleration may just carry it for that long...
