    I bent my Interceptor

I neglected to mention I upgraded it to a 29mm. I 3D printed a custom nozzle and custom bulkheads. I was using a G79. The heavier motor and nozzle moved the CG aft. Also the vinyl skins add weight to all surfaces and probably move the CG aft a bit as well. I ran it in Open Rocket and it was...

    I bent my Interceptor

You can see where the fuselage is wrinkled just ahead of the strakes. I have an idea that I can cut the fuselage just ahead of the strakes, insert a coupler, glue it back together, and put clear Scotch tape over the boo-boo. Seems simple. That addresses problem 1. What do you think? Now for...

    I bent my Interceptor

I flew my interceptor a year ago and it flew great. Straight up. Great flight. This last time however it squirreled the second it came off the rail. Luckily it pancaked into the ground. Two seconds later the ejection charge fired the parachute out across the desert floor. Comical. That...

    Open Rocket Sim error

Folks I have this dandy Interceptor-E modified to 29mm. I have flown it once on an Aerotech G79R. I was wanting to sim it with motors bigger than a G80. I tried an H115 and an H135 and got screwy results. I am using this model and I get these results for the G135W-14 example It shows...

How to wire a MissileWorks Screw Switch

Yeah I see the traces in the PCB. It makes sense from what I see that when the screw is screwed in it connects either the two mounting screw terminals or the two solder terminals. Tom

How to wire a MissileWorks Screw Switch

Folks I am trying to wire up my Quark to the power source. The Quark instructions admonishes me to make sure if my polarity. I have my components mounted to my sled and I have two wires left to solder. My question is do I have the two thin wires that go from the Quark to the switch arranged...

Testing a Quark with Featherweight magnetic switch

I am attempting to test my Quark with the Featherweight magnetic switch. I read the manual and tested with only one jumper as per the instructions. I succeeded in testing the drogue side ok. The ematch fired as expected. However when I hook the battery up to test the main side the ematch fires...

Wiring a Featherweight magnetic switch to an Eggtimer Quark

Awesome, thanks. I did some more digging and I found a thread that Adrian did. He covered using that switch with a Bee Beacon and the diagram was essentially the same. Getting corroboration from you is important. Tom

Wiring a Featherweight magnetic switch to an Eggtimer Quark

Gents I looked up how to wire a Featherweight magnetic switch to an altimeter but all the diagrams I see show an altimeter with both battery and switch inputs. The Quark has only battery inputs. Any ideas on how to wire a Featherweight magnetic switch to a Quark? I could really use a wiring...

What did you do rocket wise today?

Outfield That Lava Lamp looks fun. I one time saw a guy build a Nike Smoke. The body looked like a cigarette, the filter at the nose, no nosecone, and six Nike tennis shoes bolted to the bottom. This is sort of the same category, fly something outrageous. Tom

    Serious question for once

My son and I both are. He is very lucky and had great therapy with a great outcome. He is an Eagle Scout, a Freshman in computer engineering at Cal Poly, and he appropriately handles his girlfriends emotions. I don’t do so bad these days either. 😏

    Estes Cosmic Interceptor

Check out my Intereptor 29. I flew it on a G79 or thereabouts. It flew beautifully. https://www.rocketryforum.com/showthread.php?138049-Interceptor-29mm&highlight=tomsmith58+interceptor Tom
