A couple of scratch builds: ThunderStorm and SaberCat

I'm not one to "toot my own horn", so I debated with myself to even post these, especially seeing some of the "artwork" that you guys create. You might consider this my first build thread. I don't have many pictures, so go easy on me. First up is ThunderStorm. I was showing my 8 year old...

    Sewing my own chutes

If I were to sew my chutes using Ultra Thin PU Coated Waterproof Nylon Ripstop Fabric, what type of thread would I use? Would normal thread work or do I need to use Kevlar, or something else? It's just a thought. I really haven't done any cost comparison to see it it would save me any money...

    Another nosecone question

I'm wanting to do a scratch build and the tubes I have measure 3" ID and 3.125" OD. I've done a quick search to try and find the shoulder diameters of the larger nose cones, but have come up empty. In my open rocket file, I used a LOC 3" nose cone, but I get a warning about discontinuity of...

    Christmas Candle

I'm sure someone has converted one of these into a rocket. These are my candles. About 36" tall and approx. 4-5" diameter. They are antiques, so they are staying as is. Please post your pics. Thanks. :merry-christmas:
