    Wanted 38mm tail cone adapter

Yep, as stated by @eJar0k, I flew one with a J825R without issue. Took a Blackhawk 38 to ~12.5k ft AGL. I'm stretching a bit memory wise here, but IIRC they were made by RouseTech in 38, 54, 75, and maybe 98mm. They're certified closures, bar the 38mm that got decerted.

    (Yet Another) 100k Attempt

I'm not entirely across Jim's pad electronics testing methodology but from my perspective I plan to use Blue Ravens in both rockets to allow me to remotely arm both charges per rocket as well as the HEI staging channel in the sustainer. In fact, my 2x BRs just arrived in the mail today!

    (Yet Another) 100k Attempt

You can still use HEI and not have to take the motor apart at the pad by leaving the rear closure unattached before assembling the full stack on the pad. At least that's what I'm planning to do.

    38mm Go Devil part 2

That's Stratologger CF data, which is Baro only, which would lend credence to OTT's comment about the NC vent. Also, I'm assuming that when you say Raven you're meaning Featherweight GPS? As from your eBay photo upthread that what I think I'm seeing.

Altimeters that use GPS for deployment??

huh, I didn't realise GPS satellites are RHCP. Thanks for that!

Altimeters that use GPS for deployment??

I don't think any rely solely on GPS, but as Jim mentioned Kate and AIM XTRA will use GPS data as part of the logic for events, assuming it's sane. That sounds like a chipset issue to me and if I had to guess I'd say you're using a MediaTek 3333/3339/Quectel L80 GPS chipset. I've tested those...

    900 mhz homemade antenna

I've made a number of helix antennas recently, it's worth mentioning that you want to match your transmitter and receiver polarisation otherwise you'll take a 2-3 dB hit in SNR. I've used Derek's scaffolds to make my helix feeds, you can find those here...

Would you remove a drogue chute to save mass?

I routinely fly single break dual deploy drogueless rockets using cable cutters for main deployment duties. I've never once had an issue with a lower deployment success rate as a result of that design choice. As long as you pack your chute correctly and adequately protect it with a nomex blanket...

    LoRa vs. Xbee

I've used XBee in BRB 900MHz trackers, I'm not a fan of FHSS. If you have any issue with the GPS data you can't easily fall back on RDFing the unit. To my knowledge you don't have to use FHSS with LoRa.

    Handheld GPS Trackers - Suggestions?

Which BRB GPS unit are you referring to? The 900MHz unit or the 70cm unit? I use a Yaesu VX-8GR for my 70cm BRB trackers, the inbuilt TNC and GPS give you a bearing and distance between the two. But if you're running a 900MHz unit you'd have that handheld box that just gives you Lat/Long of the...

No worries Rob! Same to you, I'll be following your thread closely. :D

    (Yet Another) 100k Attempt

Interesting results Rob, and thanks for the reply! Sounds like you've been doing some pretty aggressive testing. Quite impressive to hit Mach 2.5 on a J570! For the record, I don't think your booster is a concern, but as mentioned the M3.5+ combined with thin FG fins caught me off guard. I'm...

    (Yet Another) 100k Attempt

Very cool thread, I'm actually building a staging stack quite similar to this at the moment. One question though. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm reading that as your sustainer fins are 0.1 inch thick G10. Given your sustainer is simulated to hit ~Mach 3.6ish I'd be concerned about...

That GPS unit is quite full featured! Do you know what GPS chipset the device uses? I had a look at the site and manual and didn't see and specifics.

    Help with TeleMini

not op but when I did my firmware update I didn't solder the connection. just ran the wires and ensured when I powered it up and had connectivity I didn't mess with it to disturb the link

    Help with TeleMini

yea, the altimeter is the tracker and has a transmitter onboard. If it's a v3 TeleMini you can download and wipe the flight log over the 70cm link. But if you don't have a license you might not want to do that. You can also create your own 'USB to serial' cable and interface directly with the...
